Deleted UserWell, m0ds, I sure hope you're right. I don't see the harm of a freeware game either and those screenshots look great. I'd love to play your game. But there might be more to plagiarism than just a name and a whip, I don't know.

So far, regarding fan-made sequels, prequels and remakes of famous adventure games, I've only come across the following titles:

Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis II (Amberfish)
Indiana Jones & Fountain of Youth
King's Quest I (Tierra Entertainment)
King's Quest II (Tierra Entertainment)
Quest for Glory II (Tierra Entertainment)
King's Quest IX

Am I missing on something? Are there other such precious projects out there?

Cheers

I know I'm late for this, but I'd just like to say you've also forgotten the Space Quest 7 fan game.

So that really truly is in production?  Last I heard, Harrison Ford wanted to make the movie, but George Lucas & Steven Spielburg were too busy with the Star Wars movies.

Well, here we go.  Everything henceforth has come from either the Big Three themselves, Frank Durabont, or Frank Marshall...none of it is rumor (we Indyfans have had enough of that over the last 10 years   >

Indy IV will be made, and this is not just talk.  Spielberg, Lucas, and Ford have committed themselves to doing it and have set aside time in Spring 2004 to shoot it.  However, Lucas may decide to do it at the end of this year before that time comes.  But right now it's May/June 2004 for the start of shooting.  It's probably going to be released in Summer 2005 right after Episode III as part of Lucas' "farewell 1-2 punch."

For the last year or so, Frank Durabont has been writing the script.  There were rumors a few months ago that it was finished, however it's more likely that it is in the later stages of revision right now.

What is known about the film is that it will take place in the mid '50s to accomodate Harrison Ford's age, and one of its central themes will be Indy's aging.  Also, Sean Connery will have a cameo in it, and there will be at least one scene in the movie featuring the Marion and Willie characters:  the 'old flames' scene.  Beyond that, nothing is known of the plot or content of the film.  Unfortunately, John Rhys-Davies' Sallah has not yet been announced as a character yet (if he's not there, he'll definitely be missed, just like in ToD).

For the past few months there has been a tiny scrap between Lucas and Spielberg about the shooting of the film.  Lucas wanted digital, Spielberg wanted film.  Spielberg won out, and I must say I'm relieved.  Lucas' CGI obsession needs to be limited to Star Wars, in my opinion - although he still wants a 'CGI-enhanced' Indy to appear in the flashback scenes reportedly in the film
Ugh!!!  >
).

At this point, it's totally up in the air with regard to what Indy will be finding, although right now the most heavily rumored is the Garden of Eden...

All I can say is, the day Indy IV opens will be the biggest movie moment of my life.  I have been an Indyfan since I was six years old, I learned that being smart was cool from the Indy movies, and I learned that there was something called archaeology - my destined career - from the Indy movies.

Summer 2005, you can't come soon enough
