Deleted UserThanks, Crisger.
This game is on my to-get list; but I think I'll wait a bit before getting it, as the Tomb-raider games always have an eventual drop in price.

Deleted UserYeah, I might check this out myself. I've played other TR demos and though I've always enjoyed them, I've never played a full version. Maybe this one will be different if I really like the demo. Otherwise, it will get put on the 'games that would be nice to play someday list'.

One of the games that I'm willing to play! Lara Croft games are the only Action-Adventure genre that I love to play!

Deleted UserOMG! *Slobber*  *drool*  pant pant.  Hey, that looks divine!  Why must you always tempt us with your screenshots, Chris?

I was going to wait for this one's price to come down - as it inevitably will - but, but, but.. now I don't know if I'll be able to last until that happens!   [smiley=doh.gif]

Hmmm..   perhaps I should amuse myself with the demo until that time...   :

The demo looks gorgeous and plays silky smooth.  I'm looking forward to playing this EVEN THOUGH TR: Anniversary soured me with a section I felt was virtually IMPOSSIBLE to get past. (at least for me to get past, anyhow).

But the awesomeness of Legend more than makes up for that, so I'm gonna give TRU a whirl when I get the time...

Playing: Skyrim: Dragonborn/Dawnguard; Torchlight 2; To The Moon; Far Cry 3

Finished: HomeFront; Far Cry 3; Dishonored

Always Playing: Half Life 2

Looking Forward To: BioShock: Infinite

Reading: BioShock: Rapture; SW: Revan

I am wondering what place that was in Anniversary for i found several.
i happily use save games at certain points in TR games for i shall never have some of the super duper arcade skills some do....and i know they have to put some of that in the games to get the players...but i love the atmosphere and the nature of the games so much...i am just staring TR C and it looks fun too.

From what I can recall it was a vertical corridor that you had to work your way up.  Upon entry through the lowest door, you pull a lever and are met with two bat-things that shoot fire.

You're on a smallish platform, and if you survive the bat-things volleys  and kill them, you're met with another lever that triggers some rods that you need to jump around on to advance to the other side of the room.

Sounds like a typical TR situation, right?  WRONG!  It's not only timed (meaning if you're half way through the thing and the timer runs out, the rods go back in and you fall to your doom) but trying to jump around and maneuver through it is next to impossible with human hands.

I felt like I needed and extra brain and 4 extra fingers to get through it.  I tried... and tried... and tried... and tried... and tried... and so on, an upwards of about, oh, 50+ times, and decided the frustration wasn't worth it.  I have had some heartache with controls in past TR games but was always able to get past it eventually... but this TR:A situation was destined for dookie.

Anyhow, I've never vented fully about this, and it feels good to get it off my chest after all this time.

TR:U may go on my XMas list... maybe.

This sounds like a typical reason why I usually end up not finishing a TR game...   :-[     [smiley=hair_pull.gif]

God you reminded me the most frustrating part of the game, I nearly abandoned it, phew!  >

I know there are uber parts to many TR modern games to feed the frenzy of the super arcade junkies....i happily use Save Games to get past them and feel no shame...only gratitude that I can enjoy these wonderful games and ignore the parts that are not humanley possibly

At that particular point I googled around and found a trainer which made Lara fly!! But I have to confess that this particular part was impossible to get through, absolutely impossible.

Heyyy... can you point me to that flying trainer?  I can find others, but that flying one is the one I want!

Please?

Thanks in advance... TR:A, I just may give you another chance!

Unfortunately I played the game a long time ago on my previous computer so I can't recall the particular trainer. As far as I remember though I downloaded 3-4 trainers and I just discovered on one of them the flying thing! My advice is to search and I'm sure you'll find it.

I highly recommned you play Tomb Raider: Legend first since Underworld is a direct sequel.

I just finished the full game and I'm quite satisfied with it.  My only concern was the camera but the game was still playeable.

@jedicri

I just bought it yesterday and I'm going to start playing today. I was a little bit anxious cause the critics were not written on the whole game just the demo but I'm glad that you say you enjoyed it!

Update your video drivers and reboot... oddly, though it's the tech support cure-all, rebooting after installing games can fix a ton of problems.

Hope you get it working...

If you continue to have difficulty post here in the technical section:

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/

this is the most active and knowledgable forum for TR games and the tech help is very fast and sophisticated. Both Eidos and Crystal Dynamics read this forum regularly and both take suggestions (they are working on patches for bug fixes and ehancements now based on community response for immediate release) and post info and staff actually dialogs with the community from Eidos.

If you need hints, clues or walkthroughs or save games, the only place veteran raiders go, at least this one, is Stella's site....

http://tombraiders.net/

even the crew from the International Space Station use her walkthroughs
there is a note from one of them on the left of her main page .....

The problem with this game is that it is quite buggy. First the odd thing with the hair-eye thing and sometimes you watch Lara moving too slow and not on adrenaline mode. Today though none of the above problems are occured so I hope that everything will run fine. I heard that a patch is prepared!

I didn't have any issues playing the demo, but that obviously doesn't mean that translates into no issues with the full version...

Turning off AA, huh?  Odd, but great that it was the fix...  Here's hoping the patch fixes everything up nicely for you.

One thing I did notice was the camera being kinda whonky.  Sometimes it would swing around so wildly I'd nearly fall out of my chair in disorientation - and I had to turn the mouse sensitivity WAY down so the chase camera wouldn't be so fast and touchy.

Let me know how the patch goes...
