added Puzzler World 2 to my games library, it's always good to have a small puzzler at hand when you've only got a few minutes to game.

Wordsearch, Fitword, Sudoku, Crossword, Hide and Seek, Link-a-Pix, Backwords, Silhouette and Pieceword, Picture Quiz, Splitwords, Chain Letters, Colour-In, Sum-Up, Jigsaw, Hangman, etc.

.

I enjoyed Drakensang 2 (The River of Time) and it's EP, Phileasson's Secret so much that I went ahead and bought the original Drakensang (The Dark Eye).

Despite it's drawbacks, most all the reviews seemed very positive about the RPG and you sure can't beat the price these days (just $9.95 at direct2drive.com).

Am also really getting into the original Crysis as the action heats-up and the story unfolds. So far, the gameplay has been on par with the original Far Cry, but with better vehicle controls. Being three years newer, the then-cutting-edge graphics are noticeably better too.

Cheers, Terry

..at least it's nice that they brought this thread back for continuity sake.  Now people who haven't visited for a while can quickly still check the end of the thread. ..but since Fnord already started a new one, best to just carry on with that one, eh?

Btw, I wonder if the Dragon Age

rigins thread is still there.  I can't remember who started it, I hope not myself or CB

I'm glad you enjoyed the Drakensang games, Terry.  I haven't even had time to play the second one yet.

If you run out of games before Skyrim hits, I still recommend Divine Divinity 2

May Payne 1 and 2 are both fantastic games with incredible worlds of huge detail, i love them both even tho some parts are hard to get thru, they take skill and tricky playing. There are also highly detailed texture packs and mods you can add to make them more fun.

the first Crysis is the best, the second and third addtions to the series become more and more "on the rails" and not free as the first one is. so they suffer from that and from other major problems sadly ...but Crysis I is a masterpiece and knowing the God commands that Fnord so kindly shared with me not too long ago...helps a lot when you get tired of the super human Korean guards gunning you down in an instant. before you get your feet under you.

.

Just as a quick follow-up on this thread, I finished the original Crysis and may skip the rest of the series.

There are just too many other solid PC action titles and RPGs on my catch-up list.

Also, I'm getting close to completing the original Drakensang and have grown to love the game at least as much as its sequel.

Cheers, Terry

THere's a Crysis 3? Awesome, didn't know about that.

I enjoyed Crysis 2 much more than 1. Getting gunned down by an invisible enemy who remains invisible even after you've died isn't fun. That problem remained in 2 but not so much. The openness doesn't really matter to me much - it can be good or bad. Far Cry 1 was much less open than 2 and was, I thought, the better game, but there are lots of open games that are great.

Well technically true Fnord but they are quite differnt in nature, scope and freedom. My problem with the second and third titles are that they lack some of the strength of the first..but all of them do suffer from overly aggressive enemies that make it rather not that much fun. Far Cry allowed you to use a lot of skill and strategy and the setting was awesome, much better than Crysis imho.....  and by far the best of any of Crytek's titles partly because of the amazing sand Box construction set that they included with Far Cry that made it possible for the coommunty to make some amazing mods including Matto 4 probably one of the best mods ever made for any game.

I agree CrisGer. I actually enjoyed both Far Cry's more than either of the Crysis games. The settings were better and the plots were better, especially Far Cry 2. That game showed you don't have to have science fiction elements to create an intriguing plot, despite the complete failure of games like Battlefield and COD to do the same.
