Status : Offline | YES! I just managed to score my first victory in the blood bowl league I'm participating in. One win, one draw and one loss for me thus far. Might have something to do with the fact that I'm playing a wood elf team as if they were orcs or norse Well, my strategy did pay off today, when I managed to clobber another team (injuring 4 of his players in total, which is more than most players are able to do in one game). I'm still holding the title as "biggest brute" in the league, which is quite surprising, as we also have an ogre team in the league, and my burliest players looks like this: (the ladies with mohawks)

....And made it 21.2 meters, that's close enough for me. :

But all this chatter about Bioshock, makes me want to play those. I completed Bioshock a while ago, and Bioshock 2 is still on the 'bought but untouched' pile. :-/

I almost missed GOG's  & sale this weekend. R3.99 per game.
Since I seem to remember having trouble starting up BG1, I'll be getting that for sure. I'd better check if BG2 and Icewind Dale still starts with 7...

Status : Offline | uh actually no :-[, when i booted it up i realised i had to go through some technical hassle to solve the 'no sound' issue with win7. So i did play Mass Effect instead.
But now i'm back at the witcher, finally gotten to the lakeside in chapter 4 8-).
oh btw, are the extra adventures any good, or should i just continue with the witcher 2 when i've done the main quest :-?
ps: If someone likes espionage RPG's, Alpha Protocol is on steam sale this weekend. It has its issues, but 2$ is a wonderful deal 8-)

Re the Withcer extra adventures; I really liked the official one called the Price of Neutrality. A Merry Witchmas was fun - (if you'd enjoy playing a pretty dark Xmas).
Side Effects wasn't too bad. I hated the Wedding ( - didn't even finish it)
I haven't played the other extra adventures yet, besides the ones mentioned.

Status : Offline | Trying out Mechwarrior living legends, an attempt to make a multiplayer mechwarrior using the Crysis engine. If anyone it interested, you can download it from here: http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/ (it needs the multiplayer addition for crysis, which can be found in Crysis warhead). I'm finally finding a use for my copy of Crysis, a game which I never really liked.

i hope to see more of that world but i will need to try to find a cheat or some sort of mod that makes it possible to explore and ignore the dumb Koreans. that sounds interesitng re what you posted about Fnord, can you post a pic or two?

As for Mechwarrior living legends, it still uses many of the same assets as the original game, the main difference is that you get to pilot mechs, tanks & aerospace fighters on top of being able to run around as a solider on foot. Note that I'm playing the game in an 800*600 resolution with everything set to low, so don't expect any eyecandy from these screenshots.

And the mech that I was piloting was a relatively small one, there are huge mechs in the game as well.

Graphics wise this game is a gem, but i agree the actual gameplay is boring :

Along with an endless stream of CRPGs, I've been trying to catch-up on all the top-rated PC shooters from the past eight years and couldn't resist the original Crysis on sale at STEAM for just $7.49 USD.
Yes, it is just a typical FPS, but wow does it look great with all settings maxed-out. The physics are also rock solid and so far, the vehicle controls are better than what you get in average shooters (a bit less squirrelly for land-transport steering and quite responsive for acceleration / decceleration). The water craft are also a lot of fun to drive and both have a nice, wide view / firing radius for turret-mounted guns.
I also know what you mean about wanting to leisurely stroll around that island and gaze at the gorgeous scenery. The water effects are truly magnificent, but those pesky Korean soldiers keep attacking every step of the way.
Once I've actually beaten the game, I will definitely load a few key saves, activate God Mode, and just go for a long walk.
Cheers, Terry

i am also working on Advent, a remarkable game for its time and for any time for that matter, very nicely crafted... and Mafia I with unlimited Draw distance and Mafia II await...just been bogged down in modding for Oblvion project...

Congratulations, Markonikov! I hope you enjoyed Witcher and will enjoy W2 as well. They're quite different.
Did you go neutral, orSpoiler Alert Order side or Elves side?

Initially i sounded very promising, but when i discovered it wasn't a real open world-fps, my enthusiasm soon faded. The reviews and gameplay videos are rather dissapointing. I'll probably get it once it drops below 15$

I ordered Xenoblade: Chronicles but it will take a week for it to arrive so in the meantime I'll be playing Nox, a classic ARPG by Westwood (their last non-RTS, I think)

At first glance it might look like a Diablo clone (which was what a lot of reviewers as a time labeled it as) but I think this comparison does the game a big disservice. The two games have very different focuses, they just happen to be in the same sub-genre (ARPGs)
