Best of luck with that, I really enjoyed Morrowind. It deserves a replay on my part, but I'd like to give Oblivion a try even more.
And then there's the Gothic series which I've been wanting to play through for awhile. And Icewind Dale 2, to finish off the classic Bioware RPG's. And I've had Jade Empire reinstalled for awhile now intending to replay it, but haven't gotten around to it yet. And Sacred, which I stalled on...well you get the picture, you no doubt know all too well how those RPG's can stack up. :

Yes, you're right about that. Neverwinter in NWN 2 was disappointingly small, and felt relatively barren compared to cities from earlier Bioware games.

But holy hell, I've played this game for slightly over 51 hours and have only "Explored" just under 29% of the game.
Cripes.
Heh, sounds all too much like my experience. I was happily blasting and burning my way through the game for a long time with my Dwarf, thinking I was making progress, finding a lot of stuff, etc. Then when I last checked my progress I had logged in just under 45 hours and had seen 14.43% of the game. I was somewhat burnt out on the game by that point, so I put it aside for awhile. I should take it up again, and this time concentrate on the main quest.

Start Windows Update. Start playing Sacred. Screen flickers. Windows update takes me out of Sacred and onto the Desktop. Sacred won't come back on, so I Task Manager Kill it.
Reboot.
My Sacred save is corrupt. Sacred freezes immediately after I load it up.
I've tried everything, but am throwing in the towel... it was a fantastic 52 hours, but I'm kind of glad this happened. I was uber-powerful and no new areas were posing any sort of challenge, so it was a blow-through with every enemy I encounted.
Argh, kinda.
On to Dead Space for PC.
Really? Does Isaac really control this bad with a M/K? No patch? Holy crap this looks like a scary game, but what's even scarier are these wickedly pathetic controls!
Next.
On to Good Ol' Republic Commando.
Playing: Skyrim: Dragonborn/Dawnguard; Torchlight 2; To The Moon; Far Cry 3
Finished: HomeFront; Far Cry 3; Dishonored
Always Playing: Half Life 2
Looking Forward To: BioShock: Infinite
Reading: BioShock: Rapture; SW: Revan

Oh, shame! :'( That Uber sucks. This is the very reason why I try to force all my updates and scans to manual. The downside is that it doesn't get done all that regularly, but it just so sucks when you're right in the middle of a battle and suddenly you are out of the screen and some robotic voice says: "Your scan/update is now completed. " [smiley=hair_pull.gif]X100 worse if your whole game gets corrupted because of that... [smiley=zombie.gif]

Man, terrible. Plus, the saves are at checkpoints, not by choice, so often I have to start a level from the beginning. Torture. I'll try to last, but this might a game I'm "playing" off and on for a while. Very infuriating, but often fun.

Now that I have played Oblivion I'm more into the mechanics of the game, and I guess when I first started Morrowind I didn't really understand the purpose of the game. I was overwhelmed with the lenght and depth of the world I think
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)
Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

Halcyon, I assume CrisGer was thinking you were going more "old-school" than that. I suspect he was referring to the great Wolfenstein 3D!

By the way if anyone knows I'm having issues with installing Ultima VII. I've added a post in the technical section if anyone could help it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Status : Offline | Heheh- nah, I want to play it as closely as possible like it was supposed to be. The lack of cash is part of the challenge of these RPG's for me. (Heck, I did a lot of hunting and plant picking in Gothic because of that...) A bit of a pain admittedly, but not as much of a pain as the dark elf voices and the Breton female voice. I actually like the beast races and the orcs and the Redguards voices, and the Nords are only mildly annoying. :
Well, for cash, I've decided to join the thieve's guild, and have fenced myself quite a bit of cash by now, though not enough. I also put up with annoying Glarthir for some cash, (and then emptied his house- sadly quite thin pickings since I cannot open the chest with the hard lock yet) and am now doing odd jobs that bring financial/material rewards.
I have put the lofty mages' guild tasks that brings in no cash on hold for a little bit. I had just started investigating the necromancers, you see, when my staff and other enchanted weapons ran out of charge.
And I've taken some mages' guild soulgems, and have managed to trap myself the souls of 2 rats and 2 wolves so far. [smiley=cheesy.gif]

Ah, thanks, yes, I vaguely remembered something like that - I'd hoped those were the Welkynd stones (the blue-ish ones) of which I have 3 or 4.
I seem to remember that the Varla stones are purplish and IIRC they are also to be found in Ayelid ruins? Or have I got that wrong? I've been in a few ruins, but haven't seen any purplish stones- only the blue Welkynd stones.. :-/

There seem to be very few, indeed (I only have two, one of which I brazenly stole from a display case, while I have 24 welkynd stones). For what it's worth the unowned varla stone I found in an Ayleid ruin; you'll probably find most others in such ruins. 8-)

..eerrrmm- from the mage's guild? Do you know how much trouble it is to get re-instated (I assume you are a member?) - if they catch you stealing? I got nervous of doing that in Morrowind already... Hmm- but i wonder if those mystic traders in town might have any...- and i am a thief now after all, although i sadly can only open easy and average locks as yet... :

I wouldn't steal from my guild (yet). No, this was in one of the castles. Chorrol, I think, or maybe Anvil?

When am i going to start getting better weapons and armour? I've managed to loot one silver item and one dwarven item, but that is about it. Admittedly I also have an enchanted weapon or two, but when does the good stuff start to come along?
I guess I'm a bit spoilt since i think i was last playing at around level 56 when i was playing the DLC and quests I'd missed the first time around and so on.

Earn money in the arena. It's not as hard as you think.
There are usually better weapons in the caves, as you know, held by the boss at the end. I'm surprised you haven't gotten something metal, at least.
The DLC have great stuff. I earned a goblin's war chest, and the hood and robe are more powerful than the Knights of the Nine Crusader armor or anything else in the game.  epends what you need it for, of course. I'm always changing clothes and rings, etc. I have no patience with spells.

Just now I'm busy with "Lifting the veil" at Pale Pass, and I shoot those nasty ole skeles from afar with fire - my destruction skill is pretty high by now. Such fun to have them explode into pieces..
Yep, I completed the Arena previously (but started at a more advanced level) - that's how I got to join the Dark Brotherhood. Truly a nasty lot - much worse than the assassins in Morrowind.
Ok, will try out the arena now then, thanks.
Just yesterday I installed the DLC pack with Knights of the Nine on it. Won't do most of it yet, since I've not reached the top of any guild yet, nor hardly done anything with the MQA either - mostly some lowly fighters guild, mage's guild and sidequests.
I'm still too junior to even attempt any of the Daedric quests too.

After this, I'll post in an Oblivion thread, if I have more to say. I'm really zeroing in on Fallout New Vegas--one month to go!

I've been playing a lot of Halo: Reach with my friends. I finally got around to playing Dragon Age: Origins, although I haven't made it too far due to other obligations. Been playing a lot of Magic: the Gathering on the Xbox Live Arcade just for relaxation purposes, it's a surprisingly deep and entertaining game.
Oh and I finally finished my play-throughs of Fallout 3, Mass Effect and Bioshock a little while ago. Fallout 3 was a great game but got very tiresome. I could NOT get into Mass Effect at all, a fact I found surprising since I adored KOTOR and felt the game to be quite similar. All the way through to the end the game felt like a chore, I rarely if ever genuinely enjoyed myself :\
I did love Bioshock, though the gameplay wasn't as charming as I expected it to be. The story and atmosphere more than made up for any sense of gameplay mechanic inadequacy, I just lovedlovedloved the setting and the way the story progressed and how fleshed out and vibrant every character was. A really wonderful game, and so refreshing to find a story and setting in a game that truly drew me in.
