Greetings all, I am writing my first text adventure game using inform7 and am having a lot of fun. I can't figure out how to do the following though, if anyone can help:

1) I need to start a counter that begins when a particular action takes place

2) I need for additional actions to take place as the timer increments usiing the tern counts.

example:
mand drinks beer- this starts a counter
after four more moves man says "feeling drunk"
after 8 moves man pukes
after 10 moves man passes out- end game with loss

I need some direction here :-(

What you need is someting like this:

After the man drinks the beer:
    feeling drunk starts in four turns;
    puking up starts in eight turns;
    passing out starts in ten turns.

At the time when feeling drunk starts:
    ...your code.

At the time when puking up starts:
    ...

At the time when passing out starts:
    ...

You could, of course change this so that only the first event is triggered, and this event triggers the next (just in case you want to stop the chain-reaction for some reason).
