Caroline, I'm hurt. Is a toddler jailbait if we find them cute? Am I gay if I find Haakon Lie has a cute accent, too? Give me a little credit, please. >

Actually, to be honest, I'd already looked at the first couple of hints and also in one or two other puzzles. I know what needs to be done in this particular puzzle, it's just a case of me being able to actually do it or get the hint system to complete it for me.

On the other hand, here I am wearing what may be the only Timelapse t-shirst left on the planet:

Did you get the matching cap? I know how fond you are of caps.
And what an interesting shadow your profile makes on your shirt.
Helen's comments about Shivers sent me on a quest and I have now bought a copy of Shivers 1 & 2 from ebay. I'll just add them to the unplayed pile.

Meaning what? That you aren't a total gentleman and really do fancy 10 year old girls? Or that you weren't hurt at all and now think I am the fool for responding so promptly to alleviate any offence. :-?

(I'm happy to say that I think nik and I have in the meantime made up our differences and are (I think/hope) the best of friends again.)
Oh, all the misunderstandings that the ambiguity of text can cause in the absence of body language! [smiley=shaking_head.gif]
EDIT: Maybe JKing means, that although he does not fancy 10-year old girls, he still is not a total gentleman? Or something. :-/ Maybe I should keep my nose out of this.

It's too bad she couldn't see the good in Timelapse. And if I recall, she sent you The Longest Journey in return, which you didn't enjoy either. It's rather intriguing, and nice at any rate that you were both able to find common interests in Syberia, then.

I was reading some of his emails the other day from when he was recuperating between surgeries and he had played Dreamfall and then replayed TLJ and found it made more sense to him. Of course by then Anne was dead - she would have be thrilled to see him change his opinion about her favourite game. I do mean to get around to it one day - with a w/t.
I still miss them both and still keep in touch with a couple of others from that site.

(I did play Riven which I really enjoyed, as I do all Myst games. I also enjoyed The Longest Journey and Syberia I and II. All these games were 'enchanted' to me.)
I’m in the mood for a new game, so if these are the enchanted games, which are the most enchanted? If I were going to only buy two of them, (which I probably will) which two should I buy.
Enchanting AG games (Did I miss one on my list?)

Status : Offline | Kori It's a personal thing as to which games enchant which people. If you liked Riven and the Myst series then may I suggest Obsidian but only if you like puzzles that challenge you.
And if you like your puzzles a little less cerebral then I insist you get a copy of Timelapse.
There, I've done my best.

Kori - Call of Cthulu is survival horror based on the fiction of HP Lovecraft. Your very first scene in the game, is where you visit a building that had housed a strange sect, in which all of the inhabitants had committed suicide - you can inspect their dead bodies, and it gets worse from there. You get to go to an underground bunker, where you find the bodyparts and remains of people who had been tortured.
Next you get to visit a very creepy town with very creepy mutant people who ritually sacrifice people for fun, when theyr'e not busy simply chopping up people for fun. After a whole long bout of further extended horror, your protagonist eventually goes insane and is incarcerated in an asylum. He commits suicide in the end, by hanging himself from the rafters.
If that sounds "enchanting" to you, - go for it. I would call this game a lot of things, but "encanting" would not be on my list.
EDIT: I know that I mentioned King's Quest 6, but it's a pretty old game, and I think the only way to run it on modern machines would be as part of the KQ compilation released a year or two back.
For something more modern, (in addition to games mentioned in your list) why don't you try Amerzone (old, but more modern than KQ), or the sequel to The longest Journey, being: "reamfall: the Longest Journey".
Simon the Sorecerer games are also rather cute, especially if you have an off-beat sense of humour. I'm enjoying Simon The Sorecerer 4 quite a lot.

I wonder if that would that be the same as Beyond Atlantis 2? (I have it under the latter name.) I did also think of including it, as even though it is by far not the best or most enjoyable adventure I have played, it could very well be described as "enchanting".

Failing that, DOSBox runs the DOS version fine, and I managed to run the Windows version within Windows 3.1 in DOSBox without incident, excepting that it was too slow for my poor old machine.

Status : Offline | Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I think I will go with Caroline’s suggestion and buy Obsidian and Timelapse.
I’ve noticed that many of you enjoy most adventure games, including the B grade AG. As for myself, I tend to only enjoy playing the best AG (A grade), which means I have to play them over and over again since there are not that many. The few AG that I’ve bought that were not ‘top of the line,’ I never finished. I don’t think I’m that picky, but I do lose interest in playing those B grade AG.
Puzzles are not enough for me. I have to have a good story to hold me, and I don’t care much for stories that are based on earth in the present time. I like fantasy and SciFi worlds, both in first person and third person.
I even like to play action adventure if there is not too much shooting, and I get to do a little exploring. I enjoyed the last Tomb Raider game. The graphics were wonderful and Lara is sexy. And I also enjoyed an older action adventure game called Alice.

Sometimes Amazon lists games that the seller no longer has in stock. I guess I’ll find out when the seller contacts me. Thanks for the suggestions. I’m slow at playing games. I like to make them last for weeks, so I only play an hour late at night. I’ll make a post in a few months about my playing experience with both.

Status : Offline | Kori I too am slow at playing games. Timelapse was the very first adventure game I had ever played. I knew no one else with a pc and I didn't have the internet. It took me months.
When you get to the glass pyramid puzzle - let me know. I totally over-thought that one.
I'm just really pleased that someone is going to discover these two great games for the first time.... I wish it was me. As it is I've stuffed my pc and can't get either of them to play until I sort out my Quicktime issues.
