Status : Offline | From memory I think you try going downstairs, guard stops you, talk to guard he eventually gives you warrens number, try phoning and get no answer so talk to guard again and he lets you go downstairs.
Next up playing with the lights.

I.e talked to Warren checked out the knife collections etc
Getting downstairs is just a matter of keep talking to the guard until he lets you.
P.S It tells you in the manual how to save the game. Press "Esc" while playing to bring up main menu then click on "Save" the double click on a save slot. :
