Have you looked at upgrading to Yabb 2.2.3 and blocking the entire .ru etc mail addresses?
p.s I only posted this to avoid the 0 post culling..*checks post count* OMG I'm a spammer. certainly not the best way, but the best thing atm, since i got tired of deleting posts and accounts 3 times a day... don't think i wanna keep manually registering new members for the rest of my life either though! so it will go back to automatic
i have dloaded 2.2.3 and will install soon... don't know if it will be able to block accounts by extension (this version doesn't)... if it does it will be a big help, but still not enough, since there are always lots of yahoo, hotmail and gmail spammers - accounts that cannot be blocked since dozens of legit users use them... so the idea is to eventually (and you can stretch that word as much as you can!) move to a different software, preferably vbulletin
and yes you are a spammer! in fact, you're all spammers, so along with the 0ers, all with 1000+ posts will be deleted as well! [smiley=skull_laugh.gif] (all except my account of course! )

It is a vBulliten board though. attachments are not allowed at all (meaning, the option is turned off)... links cannot be disallowed, but, although better than having them, the purpose is still to completely prevent those spam accounts to register
the problem lies someplace else though, since there was yet another spam acc created, what with registration blocked and everything... so during the process of trying to find the source and block it the forum may have to go temporarily down

How long will the JA forum be down? no regular members are blocked, only guests from registering automatically (they can still register, but via email)... also, the accounts that will be deleted are only accs with 0 posts (you wouldn't believe how many of those we have!)... the board will be updated, and the forum will be down that day, but i don't know for how long (if all goes well [does it ever?] shouldn't be more than an hour or two)... now if a new board is eventually installed, then the forum may be down for a longer period of time
