Grrr....with Grim Fandango, it was the controls. With this, it's the constant bugs. Will I ever play a game that doesn't have one huge flaw that stops me enjoying it?

Anyway, I've reached my third crash to desktop - I'm making the big stone disc in part 10. I call Crow and tell him to peck off the pigeon droppings. He shouts "I'm on fire!", and then the game pauses like it's about to go to a cutscene, but it doesn't. After about a minute, it crashes to the desktop.

Any ideas on how I can get through this? I can't find any mention of this bug on the net, and I've tried turning off 3d acceleration (which helped me with the stickmen crash). I can't not finish this game now, I need to know what happens!

What are the specs on the PC?  Video card, Sound, Memory, Processor, Chip Set etc...

You might want to try disabling the DirectX features with DXDIAG.  I don't recall if the game utilized it, but I seem to recall that it did.

Start, Run - DXDIAG... You'll find the options on the Display tab.  Try to disable each (or all) and re-enable them once (or if)you get past it.

What?

Thanks for your help Inland - I eventually solved the problem by making everything minimum quality, 16 bit colour etc. So glad, I couldn't leave the game now!
