Hang on, Masher - I'm not quite sure if this  is entirely your cup of tea, as there's not really a lot going on actionwise. This is a real traditional adventure game, which as you know, I can tolerate with a bit of patience. However, no combat, and your character only walks - you cannot even make him run.  So although it is a lovely game - there's not really much in it for action fans. Dangerous Dave is also right in one never completely being scared out of one's wits - if thats what he's implying about the atmosphere.

I enjoyed the atmosphere, but it's not quite Call of Chtulu or Doom; -about on par with Witcher Atmosphere, but minus the combat.
There's a lot of darkness and horror implied in the story though, in what you learn about how Count Dracula came to be a vampire.

Also, I thought the puzzles are cool, but theyr'e not everyone's cup of tea - a lot of them are logic puzzles like Andromus and Caroline and JKing would enjoy, and some of them are inventory puzzles.

I haven't had a chance to finish yet, so I cannot comment on the ending, unfortunately.
Why don't you try out a demo first?

Btw, I think that the "Legacy of Kain/ Blood Omen/ Soul Reaver" series, is a vampire series that would be right up your alley, Masher.

Don't know how strong your stomach is for lots of blood and decapitation, but if you enjoy that, try out either Bloodrayne 1 or 2-  another vampire based title, with lots and lots of blood and action.

For a reallly creepy atmosphere, and some real survival horror, try out  Call of Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth.

I've just ordered Clive Barker's Undying; which also really sounds like your cup of tea.  Will let you know about that one some time in the future.

Hi Traveler: I think you misjudged me, I really do like traditional adventure games and have alot of patience also. I've spent days on some puzzles though I'm more inclined to look for subtle hints nowadays. I'll have to pass on your suggestion for a demo try since I've already purchased the game. I'm hoping to give it a whirl soon. Happy gaming.

Sorry, Masher, I must have misremembered some of your comments on preferring action games.   [smiley=sorry.gif]
Well, in that case, then, I sincerely hope you enjoy the game!

And even more importantly, I hope you find the time to play it!

Enjoy!  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Quote from ZOrk:
outch... my mistake... the graphics in my game are all messed up

I did rather wonder about your original comment Zork!  In-game, the graphics look even nicer than when reproduced, like the ones posted by Dangerous Dave.
Depending also on one's PC specs, I suppose, - but still! )

In general:
I think what is coming through, is that people probably expected more action/inventory, because of the game's title. (Dracula just seems as if he should be pacy). (Btw, I hated the action in Indigo prohesy/Fahrenheit, and couldn't be bothered to finish it, because that aspect was so irritating for me)  So everyone's preferences are different, of course.
Luckily I had a reasonable idea what to expect with this game, as I've played all the previous Frogwares titles
as in Sherlock Holmes, etc), and I enjoy their style.

Your probably remembering correctly Traveler, in the recent past I have been playing alot of action type games and most likely mentioned how I really enjoyed them. However, my first love is adventure though nothing has really grabbed me of late. I was hoping the new Dracula games would fit the bill.
