Status : Offline | Allowing for what it is, a freeware game with a couple of hours of gameplay, it's not bad. I liked the stylized graphics. Puzzles are fairly straightforward. Decent story, OK writing, some translationitis. Las Vegas gets placed in the middle of the country in the first traveling scene. Voice acting is pretty good (again, allowing for the fact it's freeware.)

| Deleted User | There is a very positive review here :- http://www.metzomagic.com/showArticle.php?index=844 ----- and, if anybody needs it (since it's a very easy game) even a short walkthrough here :- http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcDd/dirty_split.htm
IMO, This is amongst the best of the Freeware games to date. It is so good that I feel it could be sold online as it stands for some modest sum… say somewhere between US$8 & US$10.
The English voice acting is EXTREMELY good for a Freeware game and is better than quite a number of high budget Adventures. The same goes for the English texts (maybe 1 or 2 tiny quirks at the most!) This is all the more remarkable since the game was developed in Germany with the original version completely in German.
The Wintermute game engine has been used by a few other successful ‘commercial’ Developers lately in addition to The lost Crown, including the 4th Carol Reed Mystery East Side Story (MDNA Games… Mikael & Eleen Nyqvist… Sweden). It is apparently a very versatile program !!
The Reviewer took 3˝ hours of concentrated playing to finish the game. I am never as dexterous as Reviewers and generally take at least twice the time it takes them (without hints or walkthrough). I would say that the average adventurer will take anywhere between 4 to 6 hours !
IMHO, if another 3 or 4 scenes were added to the game and maybe a very slight polish performed, it could easily be sold as a regular low budget online commercial game !
BTW --- The British of (my) very long ago used to deride the Germans for having no sense of humour. But Dirty Split (why that title ??) is full of mild pleasant humour all the way through --- and without overdoing it, as so often happens !!

Status : Online | Yes, I tried this game, downloaded on a 56k modem which took roughly 13 hours. I liked the game, good entertainment. It provided a complete and pleasant contrast to my previous game - Aura 2. For those not knowing either game, DS is brightly coloured (but not garish), easy puzzles (no clues given or needed), no action sequences, no slider or maze puzzles, and has a dash of humour. It is short, roughly 4 hours, and leaves a couple of loose ends (do I smell a [s]sequil[/s] sequel?). The 60's cartoon style seemed just right for this detective tale. Recommended for a bit of light-hearted diversion.

Status : Online | I liked it. Voice acting was very good - especially for a freeware game - the main character was fun to play as and the art style was nice. It was easy but not as short as I thought it would be. It was little wordy at the start (especially one character who wouldn't shut up). My problem was with the plot - I mean, come on:
twins?. I think it could've been a litte stronger.
All in all it was a fun game and I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel.
Oh and the
voice bloopers were a nice reward.
