I bought Day of the Tenacle, because SAM & MAX was sold out.
What was your first graphical game?

My first graphical adventure game was Myst on a friend's old Mac back in 1993. Day of the Tentacle was the first graphical AG I bought for a Windows based PC, along with a new copy of Myst. DOTT also led me to several earlier games like Maniac Mansion, Monkey Island, and the Zork series.
However, by then I had also begun discovering the FPS, RPG, sim, and turn-based strategy genres along with lots of arcade puzzlers, card games, board games, etc. 15 years later I still play all those genres plus action-adventures, stealth-action, RTS, action-RPGs, and RPG hybrids.
Cheers, Terry

Status : Online | Text games were also before my time, when I started gaming graphics were already the standard. I can't really be certain what my first graphic game was. I started out on consoles (first the Atari, then when I moved to Australia I got a NES and later a SNES for which I rented carts for from video stores). I didn't own my first PC until late 92~93, but didn't switch completely until around 1997 (when I moved back to Uruguay).
I'm fairly certain my first Adventure game was The Dark Half (or maybe Hugo 3 in one of those multi-game cd's...). I wasn't overly impressed, though I continued to buy adventure games mostly as re-releases published by budget labels. I played all kinds of games during that time, it wasn't until the Sierra compilations and the SierraOriginals label popped up that I really started concentrating on Adventure games.
But I'm not so complicated as to flee, &&or stand here in silence. &&But I'm not so simple as to not caution, &&that there aren't three minutes, or a hundred words, that could define me.&&&&Brief description of my person - Cuarteto de Nos

I don't buy download-only games. Never have, never will........Mike

In the summer of 1997 or so, I encountered by first non-parser Sierra adventure, EcoQuest 2, at a "space camp" (don't ask me why we were playing a game about the rainforest in an astronomy-themed program, because I don't know either).

Later on at this point I saw that Commodore was slipping and changed to IBM. The first one I bought was a new 386SX. At that time the EGA graphics were terible compared the the Amiga but I stayed with it keeping the Amiga around as well. The first game I played on it was "Hugo's House of Horrors"

| Deleted User | King's Quest 5 or 6, IIRC. This is why I still have a soft spot for the KQ series, and bought the fairly recent DVD Collector's bundle.
