Oh, come, madam!  Surely you must know by now that one needn't actually play a game to form a complete opinion of it!  [smiley=laughing.gif]

Oh no Traveler and JKing, the troll played Fallout 1 and 2 for sure but it was Fallout 3 (a game still not finished, demo'ed or released to this day) that it declared harsh final judgement on. When that assumption was challenged, it became very irate and cast the same sort of typically petty trollish stones. I laughed them off then too.

Trolls are so predictable aren't they?

Cheers, Terry

Now go and quote mine...  Do I hear crickets?

How's this for crickets?

Obviously this was a lie.

Last time I checked, accusing someone of being a liar is extremely rude behaviour.  Indeed, it's the sort of thing which is not allowed to be said in the Canadian House of Commons, for example.

Oh, come on man, surely you must know by now that you should know of the post you are commenting on rather than taking an egomaniac's twisted memory of a post and taking it as fact... then making an assumption on it.. and the having someone comment on said assumption!

I needn't be familiar with your indignation to make light of it, because I frankly don't care.  I don't have anything against you---or, for that matter, anyone else here---but I do have great respect for TheTraveler, and I choose to trust her interpretation of a situation, much as I trust Terry's.  If you begrudge me that trust, fine.  Otherwise, lighten up a little.

Oh my, it seems I've upset the troll.

Evidently, it can't tell the difference between a modern ROLE PLAYING GAME like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and a shooter.

Oh well, I assume it will continue to babble on about how awful Fallout 3 will be - right up to the time it's actually released when I plan on having a ball playing it along with many others who realize that the genre has changed since the original games in the series came out a full decade ago.

Cheers, Terry

Based on what evidence?  As far as I can tell, Terry was expounding upon his own personal opinions; unless you're suggesting that Terry was misrepresenting his own estimation of the series, I don't see how what you initially quoted could be a lie, obvious or otherwise.

"Pointing out" a lie without any actual evidence seems to me tantamount to an accusation.

"Oh goody, the troll is back with more unmitigated nonsense and empty personal insults. "

Waiting for you to quote my insults.  Strange that you keep ignoring it.. It is funny how you make claims and then run away from backing them up.

Fallout 3 is a first person shooter with rpg elements.  The truth is out and has been for a while.  See how I linked actual evidence to support my claims?  That is called formulating a cohesive argument...
Cheers!

The poor troll apparently doesn't realize that it's mere existence is an insult to any forum community.

It's also sadly deluded about the defintion of a RPG these days. I suppose that's due to it living in such a deep, dark, little hole.

Cheers, Terry

Trying to reason with a troll is a complete waste of time JKing.

It's sole purpose in life is to stir up trouble and make others as miserable as it is.

Are you people being serious here?

Good god, man, are you?  You take exception because a person says (emphasis mine): "No comment except [...]" and then goes on to comment further once someone replies?  That is grounds for accusation of lying?  Wow.

Deleted UserOh dear! What a sad state of affairs! Now why did that Shadow have to up and run away like that?
Just when things were starting to get interesting!  Now, why did circumstances force me to leave yesterday, and miss this highly interesting turn of events!?!   >

Dear old JKing! What a perpetually chivalrous gentleman you are! I could have guessed you would come to the defence of what you deem to be right. I guess Shadow was being a bit...impolite, yet it spiced things up quite considerably, don't you think?

Also, JKing, I really appreciate you coming to my defence in my absence (knight on a white steed, 'an all
:-*), but I actually do agree with Shadow's challenging me on the point that he had - I should not have been commenting on posts that I had not read; and guess what? I cannot for the life of me find the references to Fallout3 under discussion???  I'd appreciate someone pointing me to it?
Would Shadow possibly have deleted them as well?  What a pity!

I wasn't paying much attention at the time and I can't go back to look at Shadow's posts to check my suspicion, but I get the distinct impression that Shadow isn't a newcomer to this forum and that the habit of deleting and vanishing is well established so that it feels very familiar to me.   If I am correct, Shadow will return under a different name before too long.

Yes Caroline, trolls come and trolls go... unfortunately, also they tend to sneak back from time to time. Their addiction to troublemaking usually gets the better of them.

I just read the last few pages of this thread and I need to point out that in my opinion this is a classic internet/forum misunderstanding. I know Terry quite well of course but having exchanged a few PM words with shadow in the past, I'm pretty sure he's not a troll. Just my two cents.

Do you like classic adventure games? Check out Diamonds in the Rough!

Deleted UserAlkis, I had a look at his other posts in other threads, and I tend to agree with you.  He actually seemed not too bad at all.
What a pity he took Terry on in such... strongly worded terms.

If I recall, Shadow9d9 made no gender claims.  Why does everyone assume a male identity?

I agree. He/she might have come off as abrasive at times, but doubtful they are a troll.  LOL, we've got others who set the bar real high on trolling!
