Status : Online | From the demo I played, I didn't think the game was realistic at all. The idea to control characters by indirect control was ass backwards painful and annoying, not innovative. Overall I thought this game was simply unplayable.

How so? It's been done before in a game where you take a hands off approach and direct a character through various screens via security cameras and such.
To me this game is nothing more than an updated version of that concept with flashier graphics and from what I have been reading it's more frustrating than it is worth unfortunately. :-/

Kidding. I'll read up on it.

Truly a splendidly original (to me at least) expression. I must remember it.

Woot! Thanks Jen! Saves me some work. I could have sworn I looked that up before but never found it. Obviously I missed something since it's been on You Tube for around 2 years... [smiley=whistle.gif]

Status : Online | Well, at least compared with a review that gives it a "." It could have been a much better game than it is, but I still was riveted the whole time. I do have the bad habit of many critics of getting so caught up in analyzing a game I forget to say whether I enjoyed it.
I'm sticking with the game being original, even though there have been a couple of games that used a similar concept, because it's still way off the beaten path and creates its own approach to the concept. And considering how few adventure games even take a stop at originality, I think any game that tries should get some credit.

That phrase has since been altered to "back asswards" for comic effect.
Cheers, Terry

I myself think the gamespot review was a good one.

Status : Online | I'm torn on whether I want to try this game. I have a bunch of others to play first, but I was originally very interested in this one. However everyone seems to be saying the control style starts to get on your nerves rather than help the game. The demo would just be a bad example, as what you might enjoy at first might grate on your nerves a few hours in.

As you've played the game - and I have also - and you think the Gamespot review is good, do you agree with Carlini's JA review that the Gamespot reviewer did not finish the game?
I've read the Gamespot review and it also seems to me that they did not play past the first level. Take note that most of their reviews will refer to weapons or incidents that occur late in a game. The Experiment review does not and in fact does not seem to take into account anything at all that happens past the first level.

Status : Offline | I honestly think the Gamespot reviewer finished the game and liked it. I loved the game and found it easy to play. However it is REALLY different from a typical adventure game like Culpia Innata.
I played the game on an old laptop too that is not exactly a powerhouse gaming machine.
Oh well, perhaps someone (like me) will write an additional JA review of the game.
To sum it up, I liked the fact that it was different, the story was quite good and the play had good variety to it.
The multiple cameras added to the game and I will play this game again.
"While The Experiment isn't the sort of adventure that everyone will be able to appreciate, its hands-off design gives it an understated, intellectual realism. If nothing else, it offers a great change of pace from more conventional adventure games."
