Status : Offline | Thanks for the reply! I've done what you said, that was to fill the lamp with oil.
The issue I have is the grease for the wheel of the cabinets in the African room. According to the walkthroughs I've read, I should simply be able to pick the little tin to the left of the can you're referring to.
For some reason the game is just telling me the tin is useless and I can't pick it up.

I used the oilcan on the squeaky wheels and it did the trick. I never needed the grease can.

Status : Online | It's the can of regular oil (not grease) that you need. According to my own walkthru, that oilcan is to the right of the one with the lamp oil. Try that and see if it works.

You have probably figured this out already, but yes, you can pick up the oilcan and take it with you.
Can't pick up the grease can, but you don't need it anyway.
Enjoy the rest of the game. I've already played the original Scratches and now I plan to start the Director's Cut version. Wish me luck!
