Was there ever anything you remember about one of the Sierra games, or any other games, from you were younger that you later found out to be false? One of mine is Space Quest 3...I swear the first time I played and repaired the mallard that the color scheme was different from the green...I remember it being blue with yellow lettering, I still remember thinking it odd that I could never replicate that color scheme on subsequent play throughs and thinking the green was ugly lol I wish I still had some saves from back then, but obviously it couldn't have happened since there's no evidence of another color scheme for the mallard's computer. Unless I had a VERY rare one time only color glitch lol

Another glitch I remember is from the EGA space quest 1...it's actually 2 glitches. I remember playing as a kid and whenever Roger would walk it would leave footprints behind him. The other one is in the first room on the floor the pod bay is on, whenever Roger would step over this yellow line he would jump up to the top of the screen and I'd be able to walk around anywhere but never leave the area. Fun but frustrating times lol

In Riven, there's a part where you can use a coded knock on a door and a little boy will peek out. Now the first time I played the game, I tried this several times, and I could swear that one time I saw a different face appear. However, I've never manage to repeat that or find any other references to it (e.g. on cheat sites), so I guess it must have been my imagination.

You knock five times and a face appears.  So you see that as a little boy?  I thought it was a young woman.   I used to knock on that door regularly to see if anyone would ever answer but it only happens the once.  Can't remember if it happens only once every time you play it or only once in the entire game.   I'm surprised they didn't get fed up with me and shove me off the platform into the water below.   Would have made the game more fun I think.  I often wished I could swim in that lagoon.

However another incident I was never able to repeat was the appearance of Ghen's face in the giant cage in the 'temple' room just as you leave to get into the cable car.  I looked back and got the fright of my life when I saw I was being watched but no matter how many times I did it again I never saw his face.

Another incident which drove me batty last year was in Uru.  I bought it when it was brand new and I swear that I was able to squeeze through the gate and keep running for the mountains.  I got nowhere the scenery stayed the same and I returned and circumnavigated the volcano instead.  However when I attempted to replay the game and take a screen shot (as proof) I broke the disc removing it from the case.  So then I searched ebay and bought another version only it was the complete chronicles and it didn't work, so then I bought a used older version but that didn't work either.  So now I have only my definite memories of doing it but no proof.  Very frustrating.

I remember that, I encountered both bugs as well when I first played Space Quest I!
A similar thing happened in King's Quest IV. On the staircase in Genesta's castle, I triggered the same kind of bug. Suddenly I could 'float' all over the screen, but was unable at first to leave that screen. The way I remember it though is that in both KQIV and SQI I was able to get the character to obey the law of gravity once more and continue playing. So no frustration there, although that could be the part that I misremember.

Hmmm....In GK3, towards the ending, you see several vampires approaching you through the veil. Now the first time I played, I could swear I saw a female Vampire that was probably the creepy old lady from the wine cellar that Grace encounters earlier in the game during the tour. In subsequent plays, the female vampiress just didn't appear with the other vampires....

He's listed in the credits as 'Village boy' or something like that. I think you can only do it once per game, but that's another thing I'm not entirely sure about. I'm pretty sure the Gehn-hologram thing in the temple only happens once as well.

I always wanted to know what happened to the cute little girl you see in the jungle. She runs away down the path and when you try to follow her, she's gone.

You do get a few of a mother on a distant platform picking up a child an hurrying away.  I always thought it was the little girl.

I seem to remember knocking 5 times twice in the same game and seeing the boy's face both times, but that could be a faulty memory.

For some reason, I have a different memory of King's Quest III. Where the forest meets the desert, I seem to recall a screen with the forest in the foreground with the desert in the background. In the actual game, however, the desert is on the left side of the screen, while the forest is on the right.

You're not the only one thinking the old woman appeared with those vampires - I remember that being discussed on another forum after the game came out.
