Last thread was about moonlight, and I remembered something interesting really related to moonlight that happened last night: a total lunar eclipse. I red there won't be another one until the next decade, so I tried to watch it. This one was great in my opinion because of the clear night (at least from where I watched it). Other eclipses were hidden behind clouds and I wasn't really interested anyway.  I would like to see a total solar eclipse but there won't be one right this days. Have you seen it last night?

Yeah, yeah - rub it in.

I took the scope out early to let it damp out, and then - in the middle of the desert, not monsoon season mind you... It rained... Lightning & Thunder... A total no show

There was some cloud cover earlier, but it cleared away in time for me to get a good view of it.

We had one a few weeks ago but it was cloudy and besides, the kids are so bored with Mummy getting excited about that sort of stuff now - especially since I made them go outside to watch their second blood moon.   They've 'seen it all'.  Still, last night's full moon got a mention (by me) several times.  Terrific how it looks so HUGE when first rising over the hills and then when it's high it looks so much smaller and further away.   I don't think I'll ever get tired of looking up.

Don't feel bad, Inland.  It was snowing here, so I didn't get to see it either.  :-/

Actually the light show wasn't too bad - a bit early in the season, but still not bad.

What?

It's really bad when there is an astronomic event and it can't be seen because of weather. Meteor showers are usually unseen because of this, and it really annoyes me.

I like your positive attitude, Mr. AZ!  There's nothing we can do about the weather, so we might as well enjoy what we get.    [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

On that note, the falling snow was very pretty that night.

I caught the last one - 2004, wasn't it? - and was fairly impressed with that.
