One of my favorite form of comedy in movies is the farce.  Movies like Spaceballs, Airplane and The Naked Gun series are my favorite.  I like to see some shows on TV that are farces.  Unfortantly they don't make any with the exception of cartoons.  The only live action show they made I've seen was Parker Lewis Can't Lose.  I barely remember it today due to it being on in my youth.  How are is it to make something like this?

Remember "Soap"?  It was a Soap Opera farce, though it was a while ago.  "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report" are sort of news show farces.  "The Office" is almost a farce, right?  I think that's why it's so popular.

Soap was inspired.  [smiley=rofl.gif]  That was 20 years ago now.  I still smile when I remember the ventriloquist puppet.

Deleted UserLOL, Chrono, I don't know what type of games you prefer, but if you like farces, and if you enjoy comics, you might enjoy "Freedom Force vs The Third Reich". I got it at a fleamarket for a song 2,3 days ago, and although I was initially put off by the apparent comicbookness, I knew the game had received very good reviews, so I was prepared to try it out.
The game is hilarious though! It really spoofs all the "hero saves the world" type cliche's, the 50's - 60's type cheesiness, and basically cliche's in general. It's not really my type of game, but it's good for laughs.

I think the British are doing all the farces these days.
(if my definition is correct, that is, "over-the-top parody"

All of those you mentioned are too slapstick for my taste, I might say as a warning when you consider my suggestions.

Try Green Wing. It's about a bizarre hospital crew. I'm not that familiar with Scrubs. I think it's similar to that show, only much weirder.

As far as American shows go, Chuck is a parody of the spy genre. In fact, it's kind of an Alias spoof. Which you might consider as a spy show spoof, itself.
Anyway, Chuck is a good show.

Funny you mention this, I'm working on a new farce sitcom for Channel 4 atm. Can't say much more about it, but if you liked Soap, keep an eye out
