Ive been a big fan of the Journeyman Project series ever since I played Turbo which came with my Packard Bell sometime in 1995 give or take. I've later played all four games (including Pegasus Prime).

Being an big fan of the series, I checked up on wikipedia to see if anything new is going on with the series, let alone Presto Studios.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Journeyman_Project#The_Journeyman_Chronicles

I saw that a bunch of fans (Vigilant EC) are remaking the Journeyman series for next gen gaming. On January 12, they had a press release with a sneak peak at the concept work and the release of the feature list. Here are some highlights:

  • Immerse yourself in an adventure game world where you have full control. Unlike the previous games (Turbo, Pegasus Prime) the camera will stay in your control. No more clunky interface, no more annoying AI that stops the game world just to annoy you, and no more limitations!
  • ...
  • Unlockable Secrets and Achievements. Search for Easter Eggs, Disarm the Morimoto Mars Bomb within 1 minute, Avoid using Violent Methods throughout the Game and purchase unlockable items in the E-Shopping Network.

You can check out there site at http://www.vigilantec.com/home.php

Anyone else here a fan of the series?

PS: Sorry if this has been posted before. Also I posted this in the Adventure Gamer forums.

Good to hear. To me, the best game was Pegasus Prime. It had such a beautiful look to it compared to the other games, especially Turbo.

I have only played Journeyman Project 3 and loved it.  One of the earliest games I ever played I was fascinated by changing my character's outward appearance.  Lovely game.

So are they remaking the originals or making completely brand new ones?   I don't know why I'm asking - it'll probably only get put on the pile of unplayed games.   :-/

I started Pegasus Prime about 2 years ago but had to uninstall it when changing computers and never got back to it.  It's still in my to be played pile along with Buried in Time.  Legacy of Time is still one of the best games I ever played.

From what Ive read, it is a remake of the originals. Also somewhere Brad (the project leader) said if the projects do well, they will work with ex-presto members on making the fourth and final game.

BTW, a good source of information is in there forums, http://vigilantec.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=8

I have Buried in Time.  I didn't realise it was part of the series.  That means I've played two.

I have 3 of them and they are in my "to be played " pile.  :
One of these days Ill get to them. Actually I came upon them last week buried in one of my bins and I pulled them out and said "YES!!! "I forgot I had these". And my son rolled his eyes and said "Mom, thats when you know you have a problem"
Of course I just stuck my tongue out at him.

Seems like everyone really likes these so Im looking forward to starting one.....sooner or later.

I've got Legacy Of Time but it doesn't work on my PC (XP Pro). The sound is all messed up no matter which option I choose on start-up. Really want to play it though because it looks and sounds like my type of game

I'll be keeping an eye on this remake/update ...

Turn audio acceleration off (click Start -> Run, type "dxdiag" <return>, click the sound tab and
move the slider to the left completely).  This is a wonderful game and still holds up even today.

Hopefully Rob's suggestion will fix those well-known JP3 sound issues on your PC Steve.

But I tried that exact same thing on my old XP system and it just didn't work. Apparently it does for some people but I've read quite a few forum posts from others who had the same problem as I. So it's hit or miss.

Cheers,  Terry

Philip from Adventure Classic Gaming took an interview with Vigilant EC. Lots of tidbits on TJC can be found!

AG should interview them before they are picked up by PC Gamer or GameInformer.
