Anyone else likes Oldman? My personal opinion is that if you haven't seen an Oldman movie you've really missed something. He almost destroyes the movies by acting too good, makes me forget the real action.

One of my favorites.  I think I have seen all of them.

Now, he is an actor actor!!!  it seems he can play any type of role.

Though he gets so wrapped up in his role it seems it must be hell to be around him when he is preparing for the part.

Yes, he does dominate a lot of movies.  He can take a poor movie and make it better because of his acting abilities.

So that makes two of us at least.

I like him a lot, too.

Deleted UserYeah, he's a great actor. Totally unforgettable as Zorg in The Fifth Element, just to pick one movie...

He's currently starring in the next Harry Potter movie as Sirius Black. It's one of the central characters in the story, and it's likely to boost his career significantly considering its box-office value. A probable candidate for a future Academy Award nominee perhaps? Not to mention he's probably going to hang around for later Potter movies...

He will awesome in Harry Potter! Can't wait! Loved him in Fifth Element, too!

Glad I'm not alone!
.

Are you sure youve watched all of his movies? I can't even find most of them at my local rental store. Some of the movies I've seen like Lost In Space and Criminal Law isn't that good though (wich wasn't Oldmans faulth).

Has anyone seen "Nil by Mouth"? he's the director of it.

My favorite Oldman films are probably "Leon" (a.k.a. The Proffesional) "Bram Stokers Dracula" and "The Fift Element".

I don't know about the Harry Potter movie, I never liked Harry Potter (more of the opposite actually) but now I want to see it too
.

My absolute favorite Oldman clip would be in "Leon" when he's storming into an apartment while listening to classical music waving with his arms to the music, walks to his victims and says "You don't like beethoven!". I found it on a video clip HERE, not sure it'll work though, it didn't for me

Thank you Judy,  I was going to put that in to but his looks are the regular movie hero actor type looks.  I think he is sexy.

I love Gary Oldman - he doesn't work enough. (his own choice, sadly.)
Nil by Mouth was a seriously good film that made me feel quite ill and disturbed. It's hard viewing.

Interestingly I caught Immortal Beloved on TV the other night, I'd not seen it in years, and although it is a bit ropey as a film, Oldman as Beethoven is fantastic. He even looks a bit like him.
If you've not seen it, you must track it down, if only for one scene - the Moonlight Sonata scene.

Interesting fact - Oldman played all of the piano music himself and got mightly p*ssed off when the critics said he mimed the music well. He trained as a concert pianist before acting if i remember the interview correctly. Put it this way - he can really play the piano!

Fav. Oldman movie - Leon. Don't you just love these little moments of calm before the storm?

I strongly believe Gary Oldman is one of the best actors I've ever seen.  It's true he has been in some...not that great movies...but he still plays his part perfectly.

I totally agree with Friday and Dombrewer, his performance in "The professional" was just stunning...

And sure, I have to agree with Gayle and Judy...he is really sexy  :

Here is an older one that he did with Tim Roth and Dreyfuss is also in it called "Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead"  it is a light comedy but thought it funny.

He's like me, instead of rushing - makes it well.

I haven't seen it myself but I would if I could get my hands on it.

Correction from the Leon freak: I love these calm little moments before the storm - They remind me of beethoven.

I've seen the movie over ten times during the last half a year.

I stand corrected O mighty Leon freak!

I got the second quote right though, didn't I? (I carefully calculated the vowels, as you see)

Very true, but quite intentional. I am quoting the Oldmeister here. Benny's "what do you mean, 'everyone' " didn't make the grade.

To end on another, appropriately,

I haven't got time for this Mickey Mouse bullsh*t!

....you want cooperation? come up my office, room 4602!

BTW: I'm not that mighty, I too did a mistake in the correction of the quote (two actually). what he really says is: "I LIKE these calm little moments before the storm, IT reminds me of Beethoven".

WHAT WHAT WHAT! YOU'RE 200 MEN AND YOU CAN'T FIND ONE MAN AND A GIRL!

I just love that one, I wanted to write it myself but didn't know how to spell it.

I think the best quotes are taken now.
