Now, he is an actor actor!!! it seems he can play any type of role.
Though he gets so wrapped up in his role it seems it must be hell to be around him when he is preparing for the part.
Yes, he does dominate a lot of movies. He can take a poor movie and make it better because of his acting abilities.
So that makes two of us at least.

| Deleted User | Yeah, he's a great actor. Totally unforgettable as Zorg in The Fifth Element, just to pick one movie...
He's currently starring in the next Harry Potter movie as Sirius Black. It's one of the central characters in the story, and it's likely to boost his career significantly considering its box-office value. A probable candidate for a future Academy Award nominee perhaps? Not to mention he's probably going to hang around for later Potter movies...

Are you sure youve watched all of his movies? I can't even find most of them at my local rental store. Some of the movies I've seen like Lost In Space and Criminal Law isn't that good though (wich wasn't Oldmans faulth).
Has anyone seen "Nil by Mouth"? he's the director of it.
My favorite Oldman films are probably "Leon" (a.k.a. The Proffesional) "Bram Stokers Dracula" and "The Fift Element".
I don't know about the Harry Potter movie, I never liked Harry Potter (more of the opposite actually) but now I want to see it too .
My absolute favorite Oldman clip would be in "Leon" when he's storming into an apartment while listening to classical music waving with his arms to the music, walks to his victims and says "You don't like beethoven!". I found it on a video clip HERE, not sure it'll work though, it didn't for me

Interestingly I caught Immortal Beloved on TV the other night, I'd not seen it in years, and although it is a bit ropey as a film, Oldman as Beethoven is fantastic. He even looks a bit like him. If you've not seen it, you must track it down, if only for one scene - the Moonlight Sonata scene.
Interesting fact - Oldman played all of the piano music himself and got mightly p*ssed off when the critics said he mimed the music well. He trained as a concert pianist before acting if i remember the interview correctly. Put it this way - he can really play the piano!
Fav. Oldman movie - Leon. Don't you just love these little moments of calm before the storm?

I totally agree with Friday and Dombrewer, his performance in "The professional" was just stunning...
And sure, I have to agree with Gayle and Judy...he is really sexy :

I stand corrected O mighty Leon freak!
I got the second quote right though, didn't I? (I carefully calculated the vowels, as you see)

Yeah, I think it's right, you missed the respond from the cop he's talking to though.

BTW: I'm not that mighty, I too did a mistake in the correction of the quote (two actually). what he really says is: "I LIKE these calm little moments before the storm, IT reminds me of Beethoven".
