[smiley=rofl.gif] That's nice, but I rather like to imagine you as a grey grizzly. 8-)
I was at the beach the other morning with a girlfriend who is 30. She was pointing out all the young skinny, bare-chested lads. For some really inexplicable reason :-? I hadn't even noticed them. I was eyeing up all the middle-aged chaps in their speedos who were jogging or kayaking or swimming. [sigh] Mother Nature is a wise girl, she fixes these things without us noticing.

Oh the fur is starting the get a little gray around the edges Caroline but its still soft and fuzzy.
Can't say that Mother Nature has corrected my tendency to focus right in on nubile young women - especially at the beach (or anywhere else for that matter). It's like radar that's permanently set on firm, shapely flesh and fresh, young faces.
Don't worry though, I am well aware that most of them no longer find me attractive and I have no interest in being a sugar daddy. Besides, I've always valued a sharp mind, a great personality and a good heart above outward physical beauty. Of course, a combination of all four is awesome.
Cheers, Terry

Aahhh yes, this is standard male programming, quite normal.
I am aware I was just as invisible to the men I was eyeing up, as they were to my younger friend, who expressed polite surprise that there were even any older men on the beach.

It isn't that at all. They're not judging you. You're simply invisible to them.

For a while there I almost met the criteria....

Remember, procrastinate now. Don't put it off!!

Moi...? Lil' ol' cutie-pie, butter wouldn't melt in my mouth me? [smiley=angel_smiley.gif]
Considering the scrutiny that the Brits put their Royals under I don't think such a juicy tidbit would stay hidden for very long.

Haven't a clue. [smiley=rofl.gif]
However, don't let that stop you inserting it anywhere you want. Probably no one else here knows what it means either so they'll just assume you do and maybe even try to work out its meaning from your usage. [smiley=rofl.gif]

toppie - A female who walks around an amusment park or other public area in a swimsuit top without a shirt that is not attractive i.e. "That girl over there in the red bathing suit is such a toppie."
It can also mean the top of a ramp, according to 2 guys who sent them an email. Here's the link: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=toppie
"Where is the fountain that throws up these flowers in a ceaseless outbreak of ecstasy?"

Now I'm trying to figure out why an emoticon like that [smiley=toppieplus.gif] was included for this site? :-? It seems to indicate a positive meaning.

I was never quite sure about that one either. I always assumed it meant something like "Hey, you can't top this!"

Now we know it's about bikinis I can't imagine EVER using it. Is it an insult? Should we batter someone over the head with the placard declaring them to be ugly girls in bikini tops? I really can't imagine any of our goddesses deserving such an epithet.
Maybe Val thought it was an approval smiley saying 'great topic'? That makes sense.

| Deleted User | Well, we could always start using it in the context we want to, and then it should catch on, like W00t and Lol and rofl etc. [smiley=offtopic.gif] Even though wer'e seriously off topic here, I wish we'd rather use another thread. I was really hoping the real topic (being: Q Victoria: ???orientation??), would slowly sink more and more downwards in this forum.
I know what, I'll start a new topic? Howzat? [smiley=thumbs.gif]

I have finished Sherlock Holmes versus Arsene Lupin, and Leomunda's scandalous promises for sexual rewards for services rendered aside ( and Holmes' infuriating refusal to take her up on them, but I digress) I simply can't recall anyone hinting, much less declaring Victoria's homosexuality. I'll reinstall and replay that part, but it would be quicker if you pointed out the exact place it occurred. Was the word gay actually used? Are you sure you aren't misinterpreting it, as "gay" back then meant happy and amiable?

| Deleted User | When Watson enters the building with Sherlock, he asks something like: My goodness, why would Queen Victoria find herself in such a "queer" domestic situation. Then Sherlock answers something like:" Who knows what really goes on in the monarch's private life." These aren't the exact words, but it's pretty close to that. I've just uninstalled the game to make space, guess I could reinstall to check on the exact words for you.
I couldn't help finding the character of Leomunda as out of place as a prostitute in the capacity of advisor to the Pope. Why would queen Victoria spoil a common tart to the point of ridiculousness, make personal visits to her bedchamber, and give her intimate, silly little presents which spark silly emotional rows which have all the elements of a lover's quarrel?
It is the very presence of the character Leomunda and the tone of her relationship with Victoria that I found distasteful. I never said when I started the post that there were outright scenes or dialogues that involved a gay relationship between Victoria and Leomunda, excepting Watsons "queer" remark; - I merely said it was implied. However, how much more explicitly could such a relationship be implied, I ask you, short of showing a scene with the two women in bed together? Games usually only subtly hint at some things, especially those of a sexual nature. Tell me, if Victoria had been a man, would you not have automatically assumed Leomunda to have been his mistress?

No .
At any rate, Victoria was not a man. In fact, she did have a close relationship with Mr. Brown that half the planet "automatically assumed" was sexual in nature, which has never been conclusively proven either way.
I do not know if the antics between Queen Victoria and Leomunda have any claim to historical accuracy, and the fact that the developers depicted a close companion of the queen as an air headed tart may be questionable, but no more so than if they had shown her surrounded by nuns deep in prayer. Both seem unrealistic.
Anyhow, the situation being presented as it is, Holmes' and Watson's remarks are understandable. The fact that they thought that something queer was going on (by the way, the word took it's modern meaning at around that time) is not in any way proof, or even evidence, is it? It's simply their opinion, one that anyone might have about anyone.
