Looks like Steam (or someone) did a nice job with that one.

i especially love the voice actor for the mechanic lady (her name escapes me) for some reason its justreally convincing and nice to listen to (is that weird?)
anyway cant wait to carry on and so far it looking like it will be my fav so far. (but i guess thats natural as this is the first lauded "classic" i have played really)

Status : Offline | sorry for the double post,
looks like full throttle was too hard for me, i had to look at a walkthrough and once that happened i stopped having fun with it so have shelved it. (at least for the near future)
not getting discouraged, when i looked at the faq there were things i did think of, but simply clicked the wrong place or missed on move to complete it properly, (and of course after failing with an idea once i then eliminate it, so the walkthrough would have been the only way for me to progress.
like hiding from the police, i simply chose the wrong place. and the dog bit, i didn;t move the car up after trapping it. these things are simple but after failing the first time i thought i was going about it the wrong way and was therefore stuck in a mental dead end.
its dissapointing as many people say this game is easy, but its old-fashioned and i have only played a few easy games, so i imagine i still have a lot to get used to before i can take on the big serious hard games and properly enjoy them
ill move on though, i have emerald city confidential, (want to steer away from the long highly rated games as i want to enjoy them when i have a good chance of not needed a walkthrough. although it may take a while)

I tried to play Beyond the Spirits Eye, after finally getting it to work on Windows 7 I was confronted with a constant flickering screen and just gave up.
Now I'm playing The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition, I missed this the first go round so it's so nice to have it restored in these beautiful graphics. I do so hope more of the classic Lucas Arts games are released.

The atmosphere was suitably gloomy and creepy, it was occasionally quite scary (although not as much as I feared having read the review on this site). I would love for someone to explain to me what the hell was going on though!
I'm now about to start Rhiannon which looks quite good. I'm obviously into first person 'horror' at the moment.
Currently playing: Dragon Age Origins, Dishonored, The Witcher, Fallout 3, Deponia

Grrr.
Playing Vampyre Story now.

I also really struggled with Indigo Prophecy on my keyboard. I also couldn't finish the game, but I hadn't thought of trying to play it with a controller. As soon as I have time for it, I'm going to try that! [smiley=thumbup.gif]
I currently have an Xbox controller for Windows, I hope that'll work.

It's not impossible. I dont really recall how I adjusted my keys but I managed to finish my game fine using the keyboard (in fact, it remains the game I finished fastest- 1 day ). It's a bit weird at first but then you get used to it. Now that I think of it, I played the game at a desktop computer which means the keyboard had the extra "numbers" on the right that I used to play in the timed sequences.
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)
Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

LisaAnn, you can buy gamepads to use with a PC or you can buy adaptors that will link up with a consol gamepad - but the game has to be compatible with this. I played Dreamfall on PC using a gamepad so I know it's possible!

Several programs exists that lets you map keyboard keys to your gamepad, so even if the game is not gamepad compatible, you can still use your gamepad.

I couldn't even make it thru the tutorial before I threw up hands in defeat. I hate to invest in a gamepad just for this one game, but I also hate that I bought it and can't finish.

I should ask if Indigo Prophecy is worth all this?

Haha, I already answered that here. It's just my personal opinion. The gameplay can be fun, but also frustrating at times. I didn't have a hard time getting used to keyboard controls (then again, I'm comfortable playing Metal Gear Solid 2 on keyboard as well ).

| Deleted User | Time once again to play an adventure game so I'll just reach in and pull something from the bin. Hmm, Time Lapse; it's an older one but it seems to have installed correctly although the game did manage to crash once very early on, but seems OK for now. Save often or be sorry. I looked briefly but didn't find any relevant patches available.
OK, so far I've found the camera and the journal and took my first photograph near the beach on Easter Island. It’s a start. I like the feature that lets you slow down the turn rotation speed making it easier to visualize the landscape.

So far I like the humor, and the fact that there're unique responses for a great deal of interactions (loving the compass jokes!), the translation is also quite good. The graphics are of course beautiful.
What I'm not liking are the pixel hunts and Sadwick's voice. The voice acting isn't bad, but why did they tell the actor to try and sound like a little kid is beyond me. You can hear him trying way too hard, and it's at the points where his natural voice comes through when he sounds much better.

...but Sadwick is a little kid! [s] I loved his voice actually [/s]  ok, maybe not quite loved ...   - so typically Sad-sack. I thought it suits the little character perfectly.. I think he's actually supposed to be irritating. One just feels you want to shake him, don't you?
I unfortunately only got as far as when Saddy is captured by the ..oops I almost put a spoiler! Erm.. anyway, I'd love to finish this when I have time, and I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying it Shany!

If I can recall, the last Sherlock Holmes game I played (Awakened) had none of these features, so its good the games are evolving.
Other game I just started playing was the long-awaited Gray Matter. I've only played for 1h or so and I can't really tell what I'm feeling about it. The opening sequence was really lame, let's say the first cinematics put me thinking of Japanese Animes, not the best ones. It was also very abrupt- suddenly there you were in the middle of nowhere with your character who just has knocked out someone for no logic reason. But if you can overcome that shocking start of the game, I think it starts building up on you. A lot of people are complaining about the graphics, yes they are not that good comparing to games like Siberia, Black Mirror 2 or even Secret Files. Yet, I don't see how that can be that worrisome as I can tell by now the story is the biggest feature of this game.

Mmm, admittedly that opening sequence did confuse quite a few people.. However, I think that what is supposed to be happening there, is that the "real" assistant (who by chance appears to report for her new job right in the middle of a thunderstorm ) was so frightened by that piece of newspaper or paper bag or whatever that thing was that blew in her face, that she took fright and jumped right back into the taxi.
So when Samantha rings the doorbell, they think that she is the new assistant. (They think that she is the girl who had applied for the job, who had jumped back into the taxi when she got a fright.)

haha seriously? I really thought Sam had knocked down the woman so she could have a place to stay that night, pretending to be the new assistant. guess your interpretation makes a lot more sense than mine
