Status : Online | Just finished Dark Souls, gorgeous and wonderfully eerie game. I do believe I am the only one who cannot make it thru any game without the use of a walkthrough. That being said Johnathan's came in very helpful
I think I'm going to try Overclocked next, another site had some games on sale so I bought Overclocked and Darkness Within I.
I also had The Path on my system forever and gave that one a whirl, it's visually intriguing but boy am I tired of wandering around in those freaking woods so I can't say I'll finish that one.

A few of the puzzles either broke their own rules, or ignored other possible solutions. And the puzzles tended to get repetitive. For example, there is no need for more than one Tower of Hanoi puzzle in a game, (if any at all). Other than that, I liked it. :

Status : Online | I just finished Gabriel Knight and am just now starting GK 2.
My mom and I played through GK when it came out and I was young, so I only vaguely remembered parts of it. She bought GK 2 and there was a problem with the first disc, so we never got to play it.
Honestly, the style of GK 2 as well as the totally different voice actor is a bit of a turn off, but I will persevere.

Status : Offline | Just wrapped up Puzzle Agent. There were a few good puzzles, but most were rather average, and tended towards old chestnuts. It's rather short, a few hours at most, and definitely overpriced at $9.95. Having said that, the game does a great job of depicting the quirky and somewhat eerie aspects of Graham Annable's animated shorts. And I love the idea of an FBI puzzle division. Where does one sign up for a job like that?
So even with the game's flaws, I hope to see a sequel. Graham Annable's animated world is interesting enough, even if the puzzles were less so.

I have been playing for quite some hours now. For me it has been very entertaining but I understand if many gamers won't like it that much. Just as Dreamfall, this game is being critized for being more like a movie than a game. In truth, puzzles are quite easy and the story is very linear. Yet, i'm finding it very interesting to follow the steps of all the characters you got to play. The characters have all different personalities and they sometimes clash with each other. Somehow you get the feeling of Fahreneit where the police character is trying to catch your other character and there's a lot of thrill involved. As to the the graphics they are overall good, yet you'll notice some bugs and the faces of the sims seem very frozen at times, with the eyes barely moving. But so far, I'm enjoying this game.

You have three main characters whose job is to steal paitings from the museums and replace it with imitations. the profits of the selling of the real painting all go to non-governmental organizations based in developing countries. you basically follow their quest to perform those jobs, entering the museum while solving some puzzles. yet, the story gets more and more complex and the job gets more difficult to perform...

The game actually sounds like my cup of tea, and the screenshots look very nice. I have less gaming time currently, but will definitely be putting this one on my "look out for " list. Thanks, Ines!
I must mention that I'm still busy with a very slow Whispered World playthrough, and not regretting for a moment that I got the game.

| Deleted User | 15 Days looks like it might be fun. The description I got off the net is well in accordance with Inesrocks’ explanation. Problem for me – it’s very hard to find right now.
It’s been a while, a month I’d say, since I’ve settled properly into an adventure game so it’s no wonder they are starting to pile up. :-[ Black Mirror 2 has been lurking on my machine since early May awaiting my attention. I’ve watched the opening cuts and participated with Darren through the torturous exercise of replacing a fuse, but that’s about it.
I bought The Whispered World cheap back when BLS Mart offered a short promo of $10.71 + $3.92 S&H. Feeling good about this I got right into it, plowing through easily until reaching the point where the demo left off. Sure enough I got stuck right away. Best bet I’ll need to start that over from the beginning and get used to all the sighs and moans again. I guess that was my plan. Says on the packaging that this game requires a 256 MB graphics card. Yeah, right. 64 MB is fine and dandy, but who would put something like that on the box. :
R3: A Twist of Fate arrived a few days ago. Seems as though I’ve been waiting forever to see this saga come to an end. I have that loaded too as well. Uhm, what happened to sexy Gina? :-X Has it really been that long? Checking out the situation I have discovered the location and point where I will be able to extract Brian from the tomb, but it’s going to require far more sophisticated tools than a nail file and a colorful ribbon… I’ve also purchased (GOG) and installed the last three Tex Murphy games on my old notebook. Guess the ole girl is still good for something. Curious I started playing Under a Killing Moon just to see what it was like and quickly discovered the character movement control is going to require some practice. Go point-and-click!

Yeah, UAKM's controls are interesting to say the least. Actually, they're among the worst I've seen in a game. I eventually learned how to stop Tex from lurching around like he was drunk, at least, but still found the controls only tolerable at best.

Still enjoying Anachronox after a little gaming hiatus. It really is a fun game.

After more have had the chance to play this...er...game (???) it would make a good topic for a thread.
The download isn't as expensive as the disk version soon to be released.

Appears that the same control system was used again in the Pandora Directive. At first glance the HUD that pops up on the bottom of the screen in Overseer seems to be a marginal improvement (or not if you prefer using the keyboard) but I still think it is rather clunky. :-/

Aw, that's too bad. I have Pandora Directive tentatively lined up to play, and had been expecting (or at least hoping) that the developers had improved the controls.

I am ashamed to say that I find the graphics sadly pixelated and the lack of free movement astonishingly frustrating. I can't easily look at whatever I want to. However, I have already crept right up to the sunners, banged hell out of that little mud house (annoying or possibly terrifying the occupants who refuse to answer the door again) and I've started collecting hints and drawings. I'll crack this game, don't you worry.

Soo..- are you saying this was boring, or simply that it was too easy? Actually, I don't really mind if a game is a bit like an interactive movie, as long as the experience is good in some way, be it the story and/or atmosphere, or whatever.
