Possible Game of the Year 2010
You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

There's a lot that I forgot that I saw in this game since I last played it about 8 years ago under Win 98SE on the old CTX PC that I gave away last year. The only things I recalled seeing from 8 yrs ago was exploring the IST Rident, and exploring Symsyn, and attacking a drone with a pipe - my memory banks leave much to be desired - and Mom says that I have a computer-brain!

I must say, for a PC adventure - it is rather fun. Sure, the script is lacking and the story been there done that - but the graphics are fabulous and it is very bug-free.
Gaming on the PC is steady. Best Buy still gets in new PC adventures all the time - mainly from City Interactive and Her Interactive at 19.95 each. In fact, I have not paid more than $19.95 for a PC adventure game in 4 years.
As long as City Interactive and Her Interactive keep putting them out - we are in good shape. Gray Matter later this year should be a real treat.

Still haven't finished Art of Murder: Cards of Destiny yet. It's an okay game...nothing spectacular.
Whispered World arrived by mail yesterday. Another great game so far (AOM:COD is on hold now).
JA Store emailed today to say Black Mirror 2 has shipped.
When it rains, it pours! I'm going to have a lot of late nights adventuring for the next few weeks.
I don't buy download-only games. Never have, never will........Mike

I think I'm going to start on the Dark Fall series, I've already played the first but I think I shall replay it just for fun then move on to the second and third.

But 2010 has in a way brought me back in line. First I played Tales of Monkey Island, a superb game After that I recently played and really liked , Sherlock H vs Arsene Lupin.
And now to the game on my computer OUTCRY, and so far it's been fantastic.
FOR THE MOMENT I AM PLAYING ON MY Win 7&&&&Recently Played&& ark Fall Lost Souls,Outcry,SH vs A Lupin,Tales of Monkey Island,Still Life 2,Sinking Island,Pandora Directive (RP),The Lost Crown

I should be paid for my labor on Arsene Lupin! It took me 5 months to finish this game. Extremely difficult almost constipated. As far as Outcry is concerned I agree with you. It's a really nice game although the riddle at the end was insupportable.

I'm really enjoying it, particularly the tie-in to Uru which I'm participating in currently. Compared to Myst 4, which I really didn't like much (well the second part anyway - monkeys anyone?), Myst 5 is a return to what I love about the games - good puzzles, peaceful exploration, minimal tension.

I must be getting better at thinking out puzzles, since I've found this game to be relatively straight forward. Usually I need a hint or two, but this time I've done well on my own. Maybe the 'kicker' will be Laki'ahn :-)

But now that I've played a bit more adventure games, I think I'll tackle the series again soon. I rather enjoyed the online Uru, but that seemed to move a lot faster than Myst did.
In the meantime, since everybody in the world except myself seems to have played Syberia, I have started with that, and so far so good. I am still in the strange town where the game starts off. I'm really liking the strange, almost steampunk atmosphere of the game thus far.

Now I can finally rate the series: #1 Riven - still the best Adventure game ever #2 RealMyst - I loved the freedom of movement and the realistic environment #3 Exile - Great puzzles and lots to explore. The ride in Amateria was the most virtual fun I've ever experienced in a game. #4 End of Ages - reminded me mostly of Exile, but way easier. I really didn't like the CGI characters. #5 Revelation - Tomahna was the best part. I hated Serenia - the goals weren't clear and the timed dexterity puzzles ruined it for me. #6 I'll include Uru Complete Chronicles (single player game). Lots of places to explore, but a confusing story (should have played Myst 4 and 5 first) and the reliance on action challenges drops it to my least favorite. A few of those challenges were made easier in the Live version, but there were still many frustrating hours spend jumping and missing.
I still have Rhem 3 tucked away for a rainy day, so I think I'll play Slip Space next

Syberia 1 & 2 are known as some of the finest examples of AGs for a good reason. I'm almost jealous of you who can play it for the first time now
(should have played Myst 4 and 5 first) After finishing uru last, I thought that I should have played it before myst 5 . I agree though, it is the weakest part of the series.

| Deleted User | I've started to play an older LucasArts adventure titled 'The Dig.' I'm assuming the real fun begins as the team is about to start exploring the tunnels. For a game this old I'm somewhat impressed with the sound and graphics quality.

It is a bit on the easy side, but seeing how the game is so nice in general, you can forgive it for that flaw.

Still, being LucasArts', even their weakest entries are head and shoulders above the best efforts of most companies...

I just finished playing an adventure "light" game, Green Moon from Big Fish. It's not a hidden object game. Most of the puzzles are inventory based with some mechanical ones thrown in. It has two arcade puzzles (and no skip button) where you have to Spoiler Alertshoot a bunch of ships coming at you at different rates and also shoot 3 out of 6 glasses off a bar while drunk. It took me a while, but I managed both. (The keyboard helped with the first one and slow and steady with the second.) It also has a 15-space slider, which wasn't difficult because the picture is there. I also liked the fact that although there were directions as to what tasks needed to be done, it didn't spoon feed me every step of the way. I liked the characters I met along the way (no voice acting but text with expressive faces), the story kept my interest, and it had a neat ending. All in all, it was a sweet little game.
