A disinterested advice: Don't play Scorpio Ritual. It's the absolute nothing!
aww I liked Scorpio Ritual! Much more than the AOMs. I actually tried the sequel but I find it much sluggish and boring than the first one... but I really have to give it another chance. What I like most about City Interactive games are the settings, which are stunning. In Scorpio Ritual, the settings in Malta are just perfect. As to the story of the games, well, they can be entertaining but its nothing you never experienced before in other adventure games (conspiracies- broken sword; crimes- still life...).
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)
Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

City Interactive is of no use! Her adventure games are absolutely indifferent. Apart from the graphics (the last thing I care about a/g's) CI does not offer anything else. It is as if 5 guys are sitting round the table and talking out: Let's create another game. Sad.

I also liked the first two AOM's. Currently playing AOM 3 but the jury is still out (I'm not far enough into it to judge).
I'm not sorry I bought any of these City Interactive games and if they make another non-action adventure, I'll probably buy that too.
I don't buy download-only games. Never have, never will........Mike

I do not care about GREAT games. That's not the issue. I'm interested in games that provoke me and make me think. CI's games do nothing at all.

I had judged harshly Chronicles of Mystery: Tree of Life, but I'm sure back in January I was not in the mood to play it, I simply had no patience to. But now I gave it another try and I'm liking it a lot. If you "forget" some nonsense dialogue (which only occurs at times, for most of it is objective), you end up having a nice adventure.
The truth is, these days the great adventure games are nowhere to be seen, some in the long waiting list, and so I think it would be reasonable to be content with what City Interactive is offering us. It's no masterpiece, but they're playable games, and speaking for myself, if it wasn't for these games, these days I would be playing much more RPGs than adventure games (seeing I've played almost every game I would like to, and the others are still to be released...).
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)

(If anyone recalls, some of these games I've been "anxious" to play for more than two years, but other games keep "jumping the queue", so to speak! )
RHEM 3 Post Mortem Still Life Sinking Island Perry Rhodan: The Immortals of Terra Rhiannon: Curse of the Four Branches Culpa Innata Overclocked: A History of Violence Dracula 3: Path of the Dragon Agatha Christie: Murder on the Orient Express

| Deleted User | Personally, I would not recommend Sinking Island or Murder on the Orient Express, unless you can handle a very slow-moving pace. (Out of those 2 I would say if you really had to, rather go with MOTOE )
I liked Overclocked very much- but many gamers didn't..- not sure if it is because there is a bit of violence/suspense in the game?
The others on your list all look good (I never played RHEM 1, 2, or 3) so can't comment on those, but they don't sound very nice from a graphics POV, though nice if you enjoy doing mazes?) - but out of the rest I would personally recommend Still Life for next.

Culpa Innata is near to my heart, but it appears to be something of an acquired taste, so I don't know if I'd recommend it over the others.

Picked up all three Agatha Christie games in a triple murder pack. Might start on Orient Express. Installing an FPS now though.

Status : Online | Have now finished "The Book of Unwritten Tales" - highly recommendable, especially if you're into fantasy and RPG; the game provides a lot of funny puns and jokes for fantasy fans. There's supposed to be a sequel but I don't know how that's coming along.
On topic: After having spent much time in a whacky fantasy world, I figured it'd be nice to play a more serious game so I picked "Sherlock Holmes vs. Arsène Lupin". After about half an hour, I had to give up because of motion sickness - the same problem had occurred when I played "The Awakened" two years ago, it just takes some time to get used to first-person-free-camera-movement. Maybe switching to keyboard controls will help

Jehane, you can switch to 3rd person view. I forget exactly how, but have a look at the controls in your game manual.
That should sort out the motion-sickness problem, as it was implemented for that very reason.

Oh cool, thanks a lot - this proves that one should read the manual before getting started I'll see if it works; usually I don't mind first person but the controls in this game are a bit... well, not exactly weird but together with the constantly moving camera they cause motion sickness which I don't get in other first person-games
Edit: I couldn't find the button to switch to 3rd person, but I've decreased both mouse and camera sensibility so now the rooms are not moving like a ship during a bad thunderstorm anymore Now I can play quite comfortably

Hmm, I've been looking to see without having the game installed, and it looks as if I might have misled you on this; I cannot find a reference to it anywhere. Since the re-done Awakened now has third person, and since SH vs JTR also has a toggle to 3rd person, I really thought this one had it as well. You see, I always play in 1st person; which is why I wouldn't remember that well. So I'm very sorry if I told you an untruth there.
Anyway, yes, setting your mouse speed and camera sensitivity lower is definitely the next best thing to reduce that "bobbing" motion that tends to give one motion sickness.
Glad to hear it's going better now.

Uru Live looked very interesting, and we've been looking for something to play together. Unfortunately it crashed or froze repeatedly and the 8-person puzzle really turned us off.
Rhem 3 was easily one of the best adventure games we've ever played. With one or two exceptions, the solutions to puzzles made sense! I can't believe how many notes we took. I'm now desperately hunting for Rhem 1 and 2 (2 is available in a collection but I'm not paying $24.95 to ship it to Canada). Rhem 4 is due this spring I think.
