You know, I really loved Blackstone Chronicles. I thought it was on the same level as Sanitarium, with regard to quality and creepiness. I think I was a little more disturbed playing Blackstone Chronicles, though.
Titanic: AooT also gave me an eerie vibe. I haven't played the game in years and would love to try it again. Do let us know what you think

Status : Offline | Finally fired up Mass Effect 1 and 2 (not adventures, but positioned as RPG's ha-ha) but I'm experiencing very, very jerky gameplay (although other games like Fallout 3 play smoothly). I'm looking at a new graphics card (the HD 5850) and hope that will solve my lack of resources. I'm really just wasting time for Grey Matter, Face Noir, Black Mirror 2 and others.

Status : Online | Finished Tales of Monkey Island. Chapter 4 was very good and well-paced, though I would've liked a change of location after finishing the first half. I was getting tired of that island.
Chapter 5 was awesome. Lots of great puzzles, and I really enjoyed the part on the ship near the end Spoiler Alertmaybe I'm sadistic, but seeing Guybrush abused like that yet not giving up and still trying to crack jokes really worked for me.
The ending was a bit weak, though, and really reminded me of Emerald City Confidential. Ending spoilers for both games: Spoiler AlertEverything has been resolved, apart from one of your main characters who is stuck in a dark, depressing place. It looks like this is how it ends, but no. You need to use a spell which brings that character back to his loved ones and his happy ending.

Status : Online | Finished Mata Hari. In general I enjoyed this tale, although it was very straightforward. Gameplay took me 11 hours in total and I was taking it very leisurely. I'm now on to AOM Hunt for the Puppeteer. Currently I am in the Moulin Rouge basement. Beautiful graphics, excellent cut scenes and a great premise means its so far very immersive indeed. I'm really glad Nicole doesn't keep saying 'well that's stupid' this time round too.

Status : Online | Well, I really enjoyed AOM 2 on the whole and found it MUCH easier than AOM 1. Maybe I am getting used to adventure game puzzles more. The only thing I still can't quite fathom is the ending, which appeared rather abrupt and not so clear.
I have just started Personal Nightmare, downloaded from GOG. Wow, it's really basic with no music and not much sound. It's amazing to see how far technology has developed in 20 years and fascinating to see what people were enthralled by in the late 80's. I'm not sure how far I'll get with this one.

I don't know what I'll continue to play next. Call of Juarez has my interest, even though it's a shooter, but it's in the Wild West! How can I refuse?
I think I'll play the mod Lost Spires for Oblivion next. I don't want to leave that game, or Fallout 3 for that matter. Hey, I wonder if there are Fallout 3 mods. I think I'll Sherlock the subject.

Status : Offline | Hello all! I've started a new game on my Asus Eee PC netbook - the game in question is Episode 1 of the free "Theatre" game that they're talking about at GB (link to thread) http://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/575189/New%20free%20adventure%20game:Teatro.html#Post575189
but unfortunately at the moment no one can access the downloads, as BrownEyedTigre said the site may be having problems this morning - but keep trying.
A few days ago I started Rhiannon Curse of the 4 Branches on my netbook - and I loved it!

I agree Halcyon and I'm actually enjoying 'The Lost Crown' quite a bit. The atmosphere is really sucking me in. The gfx and sfx are superb. I'm only starting day two and from the user comments I've read, things should really start to take off. I'm really looking forward to playing some more tonight. Friday nights are usually my only gaming night. Happy Gaming.

Status : Online | Started Machinarium today. It's not the type of game I usually play; I normally play for story and inventory puzzles, though I do enjoy some types of mechanical puzzles. Machinarium does what many puzzle based adventure don't - it makes solving the puzzles the only thing you have to think about.
Some games have frustrating navigation, buttons that lead to who knows where and lots of note taking. In this game navigation is fast and in 3rd person, you have a hint button to tell you your objective (although it helps too much sometimes) and so far puzzles are more or less self contained. So by the time I get to the dreaded sliders I actually have the patience to solve them on my own.

Status : Online | Gave up on Personal Nightmare after an evening. I just found it way too dated for my tastes.
Moved on to the best game I have encountered so far - Black Mirror. This has to be the longest game I have played with a story that gripped me from start to finish. It took me almost 2 weeks to complete it, playing for about 3 - 4 hours a day. Only in chapter 5 did I have to use a few hints and that was because I was desperate to know what was going to happen next. I can't wait for Black Mirror 2 to come out.
After the best and longest, came the shortest commercial title I have played: Static Investigator Training. A good idea and premise but almost no plot, build-up and characterisation. I managed to complete it in less than 2 hours. What a huge contrast to Black Mirror.
Next up is Darkness Within.

Start SL2 at once. I enjoyed it a lot.
Playing Heavy Rain. The greatest interactive game I've ever played! The characters are invincible, I'm deeply touched by its story and the music is superb.
By the way I have won 3 trophies so far!

Status : Offline | I just played trough Amerzone. This has to be the shortest non-episodic AG that I have played trough to date, clocking in at just over 2h. The game was beautiful, the story was interesting, but the puzzles were incredibly easy. The only real puzzle that was not simply "use item A on thing B" was the part where you had to get the 3 digit combination for the plane right at the start of the game.
*edit* Now working my way trough Sherlock Holmes and the mystery of the mummy.
