It proved to be a really tough game but completely engrossing and as a result of wanting to know more and more about the story, I had to use more and more hints! I have spent about 3 weeks palying through it. I never guessed what the organisation was actually all about and in the end I fully sympathised with the vision and mission of Mr Hungerton and Dr Brown. If only it were reality! In the end I had no feelings for the character I was playing. It's a game everyone should play. Hopefully we'll see more of Mr Hungerton, only with a positive outcome this time.

Hang on a moment, you can't be serious, can you? You're making some kind of bad joke? Spoiler Alert Hungerton was involved in a white supremacy movement whose goal was genetic sterilization of races he considered inferior. You honestly admit you support that?

I've just started Al Emmo and the Lost Dutchman's mine. Humorous, but I find the graphics on the ugly-ish side.
Oh, and I have no Mouth and I Must Scream, is on my shortlist, but I just don't feel up to anything horror-like at the moment.

Outcry reminds me of Dark Fall, except that it isn't a spooky game. You play the brother of a man who has disappeared. He had been experimenting with a way to enter other 'universes'. You find his apartment empty, and explore his notes and other clues to find out what happened. It has mainly mechanical puzzles, but there is some inventory too. So far there's challenging, but fair puzzles. Another nice thing is that the puzzles seem to be contained in each 'universe'. It's traditional 1st person with 3D panning at node to node movement. I really like the atmosphere. It's quite dream-like, and though some of the places are stark, the surroundings are not like anything I've seen before. I would consider it a must play if you like Myst-type games.

I got this one from Game Give a way of the Day and it looks pretty good. Once I play it and uninstall it though, I'll have to buy it if I want to play it again. It's a pretty nice thing to get to try it for free!

Traveler, I really liked Outcry & the style is not the usual thing I go for. It was dreamlike, very atmospheric & wonderfully produced! It was fairly easy to progress although the puzzles later on got a little harder! I wasn't sure where the game was going but I felt compelled to keep playing! It does move at a fairly slow pace but it's not a long game. I felt satisfied with the ending but that is open to interpretation, as is the whole game I think, so that has provoked a lot of discussion. At least the game concluded! & I thought interesting.

| Deleted User | Well, from what you people have all kindly commented, it looks like I'm going to have to make a plan to get hold of Outcry, after all!
Thanks, everyone.
Oh, and btw, although I still need to finish Al Emmo, I finally got my grubby paws on Ceville, and it is hilarious! In fact, if there isn't a thread for it already, I'll start a thread for it soon. It has some of the same over-the-top lampooning with clichès and pop culture, that was present in the "Shrek" movies - I think it actually pokes a bit of fun at the Shrek movies too. Hehehe, and finally I find a game where the dialogue is too good to miss. Although there is a skip feature for the dialogue, for a change I'm not skipping through it.... 8-)

This is just what happened when starting Art of Murder 1. I start playing, I find it cute and all but something, which im not aware of, just keeps me from getting deep into it. Now the weird part is that I played Scorpio Ritual not long ago and I actually liked it! Whats wrong with me? lol :'(
oh btw, Art of Murder 2 must have one of the worst done openings ever (and i'm not refering to the cinematics... those were more than fine actually). Basically the game just starts out of nothing after the cinematics without any context whatsoever...
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)
Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

Currently playing, or about to move onto - The Dig, Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis, Thief 3, Tex Murphy - Mean Streets and Neverwinter Nights 2.

Conversely to Inesrocks, the start of the game has drawn me in. To me it feels quite well explained: Spoiler AlertYou arrive on the scene as a US FBI agent, at the murder scene in Paris, and it's revealed in your conversation with the French cop, that the murder seems to have been done by a US serial killer who has now moved to France. This is why the French have called you in - since you already have some background on this serial killer (if it is indeed the same killer). The killer's modus operandi is also discussed.
Annnywayy, as I won't be able to put AOM2 down again, poor Cevile & co are going to have to wait a bit. Tonight is going to be one l-o-o-ong night for myself and agent Nicole Bonner, I suspect...

If you played Scorpio Ritual you will have a pleasant surprise in the game Btw, im liking the game a bit more as I keep playing. Its just the attempt to resemble a french accent that drews me back at times... but hey no games are perfect and I made a promise to myself that I would finally finish an Art of Murder game.

| Deleted User | Hope you enjoy 80 Days like I did Chris. Some might consider it more of a hybrid being quest driven with compass and such. Take advantage of the different modes of transportation when on land. And if you're not in a hurry I'd suggest leisure mode. Be patient when loading and saving at checkpoints.

Just one more session to go on this one. My first thought on the intro was excellent, no learning curve in this one. Got that all covered with in Aof M 1, and so let’s just jump right into this one. Aside from the translation to European English and inventory collection, well as far as a murder investigation game goes, and as long as Nicole does her job (shooting at / getting shot at) this one has really moved right along. She’s certainly had her fair share of difficult tasks so far. Much more imo than in her first case. Just a bit off topic, not only has Nicole matured intellectually, Spoiler AlertI couldn’t help but notice, especially in Havana that she has even filled out a bit, noticeably in the hip and chest areas. …..perhaps she too has developed an affinity for chocolate. I was also tickled to see that the automobile that Nicole used to leave Havana was the same year make and model that I drove in college, though sadly mine wasn’t a convertible nor had it been updated with a V-8 motor and aftermarket gauges. Still, very nice attention to detail.

| Deleted User | I'm generally enjoying AOM2 a lot more than AOM1, not least because the protagonist's voice-acting has improved light years. Granted, the "French police" had accents to giggle at, but otherwise the voice-acting is quite pleasant, I must say. I'm LOVING the soundtrack- and will definitely try to get hold of it to play for relaxation, -especially the Spanish music so far; of course not the spooky stuff, which is, I must say, suitably spooky.
I'm also enjoying that this one seems a bit more tense- Nicole does seem slightly more in danger at times, than she was in the first one, and I even had a panic moment so far. Spoiler Alert(Two, actually - when the trapdoor closed above her when entering the theatre, and when you saw someone in the car behind her, just after you escaped from the Moulin Rouge.)
I'm not always appreciating the more convoluted puzzles, though. Most of them are easy to a nice reasonable challenge, but how the heck are you supposed to see a black item against a black background? (The motorcycle tube in the workshop). I'm in Marseilles, now, and I just had to vent quickly about the convoluted "distract the guard" puzzle. >
I had to look up a hint for this one, and never in a month of Sundays would I have thought out the answer to that one - the mechanics of it don't even make sense, Spoiler Alertas the forces theoretically (I think) wouldn't be strong enough to achieve that result, let alone the amazing accuracy! This one was a bit like a certain cat puzzle in Secret Files Tunguska, only it required more items to execute the puzzle....
