The board games are pretty good; not annoying at all in my opinion, and I found the story behind them fairly interesting. They are of medium difficulty, I'd say, and you only have to do one per episode, except the first one which has none. My one complaint is that they get a little repetitive as they all have a checkers like feel to them. I'd like to see some variety in later episodes.

Sherlock Holmes : The Secret of the Silver Earing is the only SH game I know of that's third person.
In Sherlock Holmes The Awakened Remastered version you can switch between first and third person. It's really convenient.

Aaww, c'mon...!! I was the resident "helper" re this game on another website for many, many weeks some time after the game came out, and I eventually even wrote a FAQ about the game, covering the most common questions, which involved me reloading gamesaves very often so I could literally walk people through their stuck parts. In all that time, I never, ever encountered any "bugs" of that kind! Murhphy was probably just angry with you that day, Ines, and you were down on your luck.
In any case, one can save anywhere you like, and one should save often anyway, as there are certain places in the game where you can be "caught", if you do the wrong thing.
So- if you had saved regularly, this happening to you should not have posed a huge problem, but truly, in the many, many times that I replayed parts of the game, I never encountered a bug. Are you sure it might not have been hardware-related?

I dont recall well but it was in the prison in the "sanitarium" I think. And I remember searching for that bug on the internet and I found out that many people had had the same problem as me. I was talking to some character who was in the jail, and after the talk Sherlock wouldn't go anywhere. I used my saves of course but as I proceded with the talk again, the same would happen...

I don't know. I hope it is for the sake of the gamers out there. Oh and Taurnil, dont feel discouraged to play the game, it is really worth it and maybe I was unlucky afterall...

I'm not discouraged, don't worry, it's just these problems spoil the enjoyment of playing carefree.

Hmm, I must admit that I never saw that bug- but the gamers were mostly American on the site that I helped people on. Could this possibly be a problem with the European version? There was a place where people tended to get stuck with the American version. That was in the underground templeSpoiler Alert (just before you get the shock with the rolling head) where you were supposed to examine the dead man's hand.
I was playing with the European version though, so I never got stuck in the temple. I admit that I never replayed the part you mentioned there a lot, Ines, because the US gamers were not getting stuck on that point, as a rule. Perhaps the remastered version did fix these bugs then?

If only I’d had a crystal ball. :'( I personally prefer third person games (just simply being able to see what’s around me I suppose) and it seems the developers have incorporated this option in the new Sherlock Holmes game. What a relief. I was resting on the fence somewhat for this one but now the wind is blowing harder. According to the US publisher, Focus Home Interactive, release is scheduled for March 24.
Just for the record, the version of Mystery of the Mummy that I played was definitely first person.

Status : Offline | This is making me feel like a made a mistake when I purchased the Sherlock Holmes Trilogy which includes Mystery of the Mummy, Case of the Silver Earring and Awakened.
I did not at the time realize that the remastered version of the Awakened would fix any bugs. At the time I bought it, I thought the Remastered version only changed to allow 3rd person perspective, which did not matter to me. Now I feel that I missed out.
Oh well. When I play the game, I'll deal with any bugs I encounter. It's going to be a while before I play it anyway.
I did hear that you could purchase the remastered version at a discount if you had already purchased the regular version, but it was a french site which I couldn't read and I couldn't find US Dollars listed on the site anyway.
I'll just deal with what I have. I'm sure it will still be very good.

| Deleted User | Sharon, I give you my word of honour, that I have played through most parts of the original version of The Awakened at least 3 times, and through the entire game, at least once, and that I never encountered a single bug.
My suspicion is that one only encounters these potential bugs if you approach a certain scenario in a certain way, but I want to assure you that it is quite possible, and indeed even probable, that you can play through the entirety of the game without encountering a single bug.
Actually, if you do encounter bugs, won't you be sweetie and and give some feedback on it? I'd be quite happy to try and help you work around it, and I could then also include it in my FAQ, in order to help other gamers.

Oops! Thanks for that, Camaroboy. If I had said otherwise, I had better go and fix it.. The reason I had thought this was 3rd person, is that I remember looking at the version of Sherlock's character in that game, and thinking I didn't like the hard, oldish way that he looked. That was probably during an FMV cutscene then.

Also, half-way through Runaway 2. Pretty good, but not as good, so far, as Runaway. Missing the cool Liquor music.

I'm playing...nothing. I'll have to fix that. Finished Black Mirror last week which means I'll have to dig up my list of unfinished games list and do a bit of editing. Maybe I should try the Syberia games again? Never finished either one of those.

| Deleted User | I hope JKing and InlandAZ, don't see this post, because they think I'm playing Dracula 3, since I struggled to get it going, which I eventually did. And whoever thought I was playing The Last Express, - well, I was... BUT I was just quickly going to peep at Art of Murder and now I'm hooked. No way will I be able to put it down again until I'm done. Then I will get to carry on with Last Express and Dracula 3.
Am I the only bad one around here, or do other people also interrupt one game for another?
Bad, bad Traveler! [smiley=indie.gif] :-[

It seems you've been found out, then! Don't worry, dear lady: I'm guilty of this all the time. The important thing is that you're playing a game you enjoy, not so? 8-)
