Can't wait for the next Still Life, Culpa Innata, Gray Matter and, of course, new Broken Sword and Longest Journey (but that will keep us waiting for good I think lol)
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)
Last Finished: can't recall, been too long.

But by the time I found my friend I had forgotten what the story was all about and how it had started and that's not a good sign in my book. Not my top ten I'm afraid.
I started playing Zork Nemesis with Colpet (and perhaps some more gamers from AG forum ) last weekend and it looks very promising. I'll find some gaming time this weekend which I'm looking forward to very much.

Good luck with ZN Jelena. If this is your first playthrough, you're in for a treat. In my book, it's about one of the best classic adventure games ever made. Have fun.

This is so much fun! Has anyone else had this specific problem?: no sounds at the fountain. Except for that I seem to have no sound problems AFAIK.

Apparently it ran ok, since I have no mention of not being able to do that puzzle. Wierd, eh? Either that, or I did need a patch and didn't write it down. I wasn't as thorough with my notes back then.

Here's the link. http://www.adventurearchiv.de/d2/coverd2.htm Scroll down to where it says Die Schöne oder das Biest. It's been published by Dorling Kindersley (DK), and you can find it on ebay.

Damnation! So my smashing your first copy didn't work - you just went out and got another one! Oh, well Caroline, one has to admire your single-minded sense of purpose... :
Have you ever considered the possibility that you might actually be struggling because of a bug in the game, and that you are therefore doomed to eternal failiure?

Keepsake has nothing appealing for me, just the thought of being there by myself makes me sleep. For me, a good adventure game has to have a set of supporting characters to add to the story. Without it, it's no good for me.
As to Post Mortem, well... I started playing it thinking it would somewhat be close to Still Life (which I simply adored) and I kinda got dissapointment. The 1st person camera doesn't help either.. it never appealed to me at all.
Playing: Skyrim (ongoing)

It runs a little slow on my machine, which is annoying since both my computer and the game are from 2004 :-/. Which is why I'm finding combat a little hard - enemies attack me faster than I can attack them. The few times the game ran at what looked like normal speed, combat was much easier.

Holy Crap CrisGer, you read the manuals also! I always look forward to that when starting a new game. I don't like starting anything unprepared and there is usually some good background info to be had. The Witcher is my first RPG and I'm really enjoying it, though it will probably be my last for some time. As you so rightly said: 'so many games, so little time'. Happy Gaming.

Status : Offline | Currently, I'm about 1/2 way thru the second replaying of Morrowind. But I'm in a lull now. I feel like playing something different, but can't decide what.
On my shelves, the newest unplayed games I have are Oblivion, Keepsake, Tunguska, Indigo Prophecy, and Dreamfall. But I have a slew of older games that haven't been played yet.
I'm thinking of playing Phantasmagoria II: A Puzzle of Flesh. If I can get it to work on my system. Also, after reading quite a bit on this forum, I'm thinking about getting Sherlock Holmes vs Arsene Lupin for Christmas.
The last game I played was Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None, which dissapointed me greatly.
Feeling very undecided about what to play next...

| Deleted User | I suppose these pure Adv gamers would kill me if I suggested you try out Oblivion, SharonB.
If you feel you need to break away from RPG, you might even like Keepsake or Dreamfall.
Why don't you be a pal, though, and tell us why And Then There Were None was a disappointment for you? I also played it and found the game structure design rather poor. Your opinion would be nice.

Status : Offline | I just found it boring. There was no excitement or life to the game. It may have been my mood at the time. Sometimes if you're in the wrong mood you won't find anything good.
However, I just come back to the impression of being bored.
My favorite type games are the Gabriel Knight's, Tex Murphy's and others which had memorable characters. I loved Discworld Noir for it's humor.
I really loved Morrowind, but I've been playing it for about a year and a half now. I need something new (to me).
That is not to say that ATTWN was a bad game, I just didn't enjoy it.

Hey SharonB, the only here that I've played is Indigo Prophecy. It has great atmosphere and story. I always found it hard to put down. You may want to check out the review right here at JA. Be warned though that there are many timed simon sequences. It's quite a different game in how you make choices that really keeps your interest in the game. I've seen worst endings in games but was a little disappointed with this one. Since you have it, you may want to give it a try.

Status : Offline | Thanks, Masher. I will look up the review on that one and it does seem like a good idea. I remember being very excited when the game came in the mail (2 years ago) along with the others I mentioned. Unfortunately, I went with ATTWN first and procrastinated after that.
Still, it's time for something new!
