So, what adventures are you playing now? I've just started In the Shadow of the Raven. I'm not quite sure what to make of it yet. It looks like yet another internationally produced game marred by a horrible English translation, unfortunately.

Frankly. Nothing adventure game related.

2007 was seriously mediocre in adventures, or maybe i'm just bored of them at the moment.

I can't even bring myself to finish the games I have installed.

started ghost in the sheet yesterday... have trouble with the speech (ie don't like it much!) but the game is very interesting and original... got me hooked on the mystery too

waiting down the line are arsene lupin and next life... arsene will probably be what's next

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Actually playing three.  Paradise, Syberia 1 and RealMyst.   Now, if I can just keep all my notations separate, that might help.

Just finished the French version of Belief and Betrayal and was horrible disappointed.

The plot sounded very Broken Sword 1, but DO NOT BE FOOLED. Everything about B & B feels unfinished, the storyline (if you can call it that) disappears a third of the way in, the characters are boring, and the cutscenes are horrendous.
Half the time I felt I was playing a demo.

It was short, easy, and the ending was crap. Don't buy it.

I'm trying Agon next.

Currently playing:  Dragon Age Origins,  Dishonored, The Witcher, Fallout 3, Deponia

Agon?   I installed that a few months ago, couldn't past the very beginning, went on holiday and totally forgot about it.  :

I've got Pathologic as well, haven't installed it yet. I just thought I should try Agon 1st, it looks a bit 'dry' but I've had good feedback.

I enjoyed the Agon episodes quite a bit. Particularly the Lapland episode. I loved how the graphics, sound, and especially the music set up the environment beautifully.

I started Voyage a few days ago. It's very intricate; lots to do. I'm enjoying the puzzles There's so much machinery in Voyage, I'm not always sure what to tackle first. . I do miss the feature in Keepsake that let you know your next 'goal'.
Spoiler AlertI got stuck wondering what to do next because I thought the door lock (base 20 numerical addition lock ) were controlled by the keyholes next to them. So I never even tried to solve them.

I'm playing "A Tale of Two Kingdoms".  It's excellent and it was FREE at AGS.  I highly recommend it!

Yesterday I finished Sanatarium which I truly enjoyed. I love scary games, this one never scared me though, rather gave me an unpleasant feeling inside.

Today I've been trying to install Tex Murphy Under a Killing Moon. I haven't managed it either on my win-98 (wrong sound card it seems) or on my XP in DOSBOX.  I haven't given up on DOSBOX yet. I really want to play this game.
I also have Darkness Within arriving in the mail any day now. That's also an interesting option for January.

Sanatorium was fun. Not scary, but quite creepy (the part with the children in particular) I enjoyed playing it. Anyone finished Midnight Nowhere? I;ve started it twice, but can't get into it.

finished ghost in the sheet last night... despite its bad speech and the few strong myst elements, it was fun and very unique

my choices now are:

belief & betrayal
arsene lupin
sinking island
next life

i usualy pick myself, but now i'd like to hear some suggestions for what to start tomorrow

The reviews of Next Life have been pretty bad so I would avoid that one.

I've heard Sinking Island is not bad.

keep in mind that all 4 will be played next, the question is in which order... i've heard bad stuff about next life and belief & betrayal too... don't know about sinking island, looks and sounds good, but after the paradise fiasco i am a bit worried

Well the one positive about B & B is that it's short and easy, so if you're busy, go for that one, you'll finish it in no time. I'm curious to hear what your verdict will be too!

Sanitarium is a all time favorite of mine. Yet another "one hit wonder" from a developer, unfortunately. I don't think the developer produced any other adventure games. Considering how intriguing Sanitarium was, that's a shame.

started b&b and am not impressed at all so far... the lead character is horrendous too (probably worse than tunguska's nina) and if the game doesn't pick up in other areas then i'll be really glad it's short...

That's one the main problems with that game. They could have potentially made the half-baked, unfinished story bearable, if they'd made the characters interesting.
As it is, they were all unmemorable at best, I played my game in French, I wonder how the voice acting worked in Englaish.

I finished Agatha Christie: Evil Under the Sun earlier in the week and started up Nancy Drew: Legend of the Crystal Skull.

I don't know if you've consulted any online setup instructions, but I found these at QuandaryLand to be helpful with getting the game running on my XP machine.

I have found another site with instructions on how to install DOSbox and UAKM which I'm fiddeling around with at the moment. I think I'm going to get it running. If not I'll follow the instructions from your link. Thanks a million for helping me out Susan!

Can't honestly say that I've been in the mood for game playing, however I finished Evil Under the Sun a couple of weeks ago and quite enjoyed it and will borrow Arsene Lupin after my daughter gets around to playing  it.

At the moment I have Next Life installed.....grrrrr......... what a long time that thing takes to load and I really dislike the voice acting and am already fed up with walking back and forth to get various things from people so I only got as far as Day2 before abandoning it for Culpa Innata. Can't comment on Culpa Innata as yet because I only played it for 30 mins. or so the other day and haven't got back to it as yet but our daughter rang me to say she thought there was way too much dialogue through it, well I generally just click through all that rather than listen to it so I don't really see much of a problem there.
