You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Status : Offline | Seems to have been a lot of silliness going on: FABLE apparently passing himself off as a regular player (here & at Gameboomers) when he is actually one of the creators and raking Inferno (at Gameboomers) over the coals (she 'let him down' etc.) due to alleged this & that.
But what is so crazy about all this is that it is a case of a small developer shooting itself in the foot by antagonizing the very people that have credibility in the AG community and who can help sell your game! What is even more sad and counterproductive about this is that Limbo of the Lost may actually be a pretty good game- Inferno seems to think so anyway. Go figure!
Seems to me that a major mea culpa is in order.

That the project leader was foolish &/or indiscreet ... no argument!!

Funny how when confronted at GBers about using the same ip address, your "dad" never mentioned that you were his daughter. He said that FABLE was a beta tester and referred to you as a HIM.
I feel my chain getting yanked again. Shows how much he learned after all the ado and dressing down by his fellow MS Studio developers.

[Responding to Ivinia] ...Apology accepted
Apology accepted? Your posts here and at Gameboomers, by any measure, were both misleading and an attempt to pass off a personna that you are not. Minds were suspicious for good reason; tongues were sharp for good reason. You are creating a parallel universe here where the perpetrator becomes the victim. All of this falls particularly flat because the Gameboomers forum has a history of having some of the nicest, most patient and forgiving people on it, almost to a fault. You have to work pretty hard to rile them up...and they were pretty riled up at one point.
Given your 'outing', I would have expected an overall apology from you. That's all that is necessary. Your motives appear to have been to help your father's project- good motives, bad implementation. If Limbo of the Lost is a good game, then your father's project will likely go forward and succeed and I hope it will, all of this foolishness of youth notwithstanding.

The future ain't what it used to be!

| Deleted User | ~~ Lady Kestrel ~~ ... I would have been very angry if it happened to me, Len, and I don't think you would have sat calmly by if it happened to you. That depends. I might be annoyed or I might be angry but I don’t think it’s up to somebody else to ascribe MY personal feelings or reactions to any given situation.
Apart from anything else, it depends upon the circumstances which in this case seem to me to be very unclear & blurred.
As far as I can make out there seemed to be two different accusations on that Forum repeated over & over more than 50 times. One member dared to call it mob rule. I don’t think that that was well received on said Forum, and the post by Fable above calls it lynch :- Many called upon the members of that Site not to purchase the game and many agreed that they wouldn’t.
(1) One fairly vitriolic accusation was that the Project leader of the game LotL insulted Infernoj13usa on the Forum. (2) The other is that he obfuscated by posting under two different names.
With regard to (2): According to abovementioned Fable this was not so. Not that in any case it’s a crime AFAIK to assume a different nickname. On JA+, over several years, I’ve seen quite a number of folk post under different nicks for a variety of reasons and very few use their real names anyway (I seem to be one of the minority everywhere !), and nobody seems to kick up an enormous fuss about it.
Concerning (1) On reading the posts carefully I didn’t see that anybody INSULTED Infernoj13usa. Nobody called her a cow or a bitch or a liar or a crook or even a fool etc. Yes, she was reprimanded quite politely and asked to remove the spoilers she had posted. This may have been a fair request or not. However, the exact story seems to be unclear except to the people directly concerned.
The criminal accused, maintains that Infernoj13usa was given very great help in playing through the game with the objective of writing an exclusive Review. He further maintains that she was requested (and agreed) not to write a walkthrough until the Review was posted at least. Whether this mutual agreement included not posting Hints & Spoilers on the Hints Forum is unclear & unknown. If his claim is true or even partially true, whether acceptable practice or no, then there should have been no grounds for the almost mass hysteria which erupted.
P.S. ~~ Challis3 ~~ ... You are a veteran member of GameBoomers... is it terribly important exactly HOW it was reported? IMHO, the only substantial question is, was Infernoj13usa insulted or just rebuked... and if so why did she not simply post that she didn't interpret that her apparent promise not to write a walkthrough before posting the review implied also that she was 'forbidden' to post hints & spoilers. Why the whole kafuffle ??

Have any of you actually noticed the age of FABLE? Her story is rather believable... this whole ordeal might be blowing out of proportions.

Status : Offline | Okay, after reading the above, I decided to go back and read every single word of the posts at GB and here that led to this 'fiasco'. After doing so, I can hardly believe that anyone would think this is all just a misunderstanding. The only reason it got out of hand was that the person who started it all didn't simply step forward and apologize before things got out of hand. Here are some of the comments that accelerated the situation. These and some that preceded it constituted nothing less than a public dressing down of Inferno. Comments that, given the apparent relationship between them in working on the game together, should have taken place by PM:
If I had known she was going to do this with the info I would not of helped her! It took me weeks to complete the game, it took her only days, do you see my point?
This I think is as bad as the developers themselves giving her a full solution and then her using it on the forum to help others, the knowledge was not gained by herself and noone spoilt it for her or me, that's the whole enjoyment and point of adventure games.....is it not?
I wonder what MSTUDIOS would think......care to comment MSTUDIOS??
Knowledge is best earned by oneself, rather than given away and obtained without effort.
I just feel betrayed by INFERNO after we both agreed not to do any spoilers or walkthroughs, then she posts the spoilers.
INFERNO has let me down, in return for hours of helping her to complete the game ready for the review.
Thanks INFERNO.
All of these comments and those that led up to it created the picture of a regular AG player enthralled with the game and who has no connection with MSTUDIOs: eg. '...care to comment MSTUDIOS?? And then there is the attempt to put forward a 'life object lesson': Knowledge is best earned by oneself, rather than given away and obtained without effort. while engaging in what was a deception. Not to mention the facetious and snide 'Thanks INFERNO'. Inferno's response to this, to her credit, was moderate and without vitriol considering... Ole SirDave wouldn't have been as forgiving. The father and game creator/developer Steve Bovis to his credit did finally apologize, FABLE did not. Instead what I see here is that because of the surprising perspective of a few posters above, FABLE now thinks she is the one that should receive an apology. It's the rewriting of history that is driving me up the wall; as far as I am concerned, all the rest of it is done with and can be put to bed. And again, this seems to be an AG worth taking a look at.

The future ain't what it used to be!

Out of curiosity, I read that entire thread at GB yesterday and concluded that it was one of the silliest wastes of my time ever. It read like a really bad soap opera played out by a bunch of five-year-old drama queens. Moreover, I couldn't care less about a single thing written in that thread other than a few vague references to the actual game, which I will happily judge on its own merits.
Cheers, Terry

Status : Online | Len- I am unsure of your exact question to me. How what was reported? I did not post at all at gameboomers as I didn't feel the need. My post here is to point out that FABLE is NOT the daughter of Steve. Even according to Steve, FABLE is a MALE beta tester. My point is that whether you feel the original incident was overblown or not- this FABLE person is now posting untruths at JA.
