Okay, technically it's tomorrow that will be the great day, and maybe it's not the greatest day ever, but it's pretty good. Looking at the games that shipped today, we've got:

A game which should answer a lot of people's requests for a traditional adventure that will take advantage of the Wiimote.

The third installment of Phoenix Wright, which probably won't be exactly groundbreaking, but I expect them to maintain the same level of excellence as the past two.

And Culpa Innata, which, if I'm remembering correctly, Aya said was the greatest adventure game of all time, or something to that effect.

This week should be a good week.

not the greatest adventure of all time... just one of the greatest adventures of all time! certainly the greatest adventure this side of the millenium though and in my personal top 5 8-)

A few questions:

Is Culpa Innata shipping now?

Does the JA game store ship to the UK?

Can you enter the JA giveaways if you live in the UK?

Well, then, you'll just have to console yourself playing other games available for Halloweeen...

the ja store does ship to europe and the uk... shipping is higher of course, but at the current state of the $, conversion will make it lower... actually, for the uk, 1 ukp = $2, so the $38 that it would cost (incl shipping) to order the game from the ja store would be converted down to 19 ukp!

not sure about the giveaway... i know that there have been winners from outside the us before though

"Several continuity errors" doesn't sound too good...

It's probably just the character dialogs, like characters referring to something that hasn't happened yet or not referring to something that has happened if you talk to them at the wrong time. Probably not a big deal.

I'm starting to thing that the game has been held up though. I didn't see it at any of the local stores around today, and my order from Strategy First's website still hasn't shipped yet.

the patch is not as serious as you may think! culpa innata is a very non-linear game, so it was expected to see a couple of continuity errors, but none in the form of hearing smth that has not happened yet... there is one error that very few ppl will come across, because you have to take a very bizarre and highly unlike route in the beginning of the game... i was the one who discovered that error a couple of days ago, while playing the game for the 3rd time (this time for reviewing purpose)... even if you do come across it, you may not even pay attention... a couple others that you may notice are practically insignificant... and no dead end bugs, or gameplay bugs or anything that takes away any of the fun or the immersion... read more details on friday!

Nah, have no interest in console systems.

However, Culpa Innata I'll get.  I remember in June or July of 2006 their website posted that it went gold... Oy... or was that this year?  I don't know anymore.  Glad to hear it is good.

I've probably misunderstood  :question :question  [smiley=blush.gif]

The "Culpa Innata" released just a very few days ago is (only AFAIK) for PC.

Think there were a couple of other adventures for the Wii and the DS mentioned at the top...

Bought Culpa Innata today from the JA Store with only six hours elapsing between ordering and shipping - hope the transit time is relatively as fast...   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Zack & Wiki is a hell of a lot of fun.  I'm glad I dusted off my Wii for this.  It's only $40 at most places, too.

And for only $40, it puts to shame 95% of games that 3rd parties have been releasing for the Wii so far. Zack & Wiki is just delicious. And it's ridiculously addictive. Once I start a level, I can't quit until I've beat it, and once I beat a level I can't wait to start the next one. Strategy First still hasn't shipped my copy of Culpa Innata (has anyone got this game yet??) but I don't even care right now because Z&W is just so much fun.

Was tempted to download Culpa Innata (1.53Gb) from Strategy First, but didn't have enough faith in the download speed to here in the UK :-/ Estimated a worst-case-scenario of 14 hours and then realised that a shiny-new DVD can fly across the Atlantic in seven...

If Culpa Innata is as good as advertised, then it might not matter. Looks like the ship date has been pushed back to November 1st though, although apparently you can download it from Strategy First's website.

What? I ordered from Strategy first and got my game a couple days ago. In fact i just spent my whole weekend playing it.

They just like me better.

Yep, my copy is also on its way from the JA store...

So, jenmarie, is the hype justified...?

Mmm, I think yes. I'm used to a lot more straight forward puzzels where you have clearly come to the puzzel and must complete it to continue. There are more of the traditional puzzels, but there are also a lot where the 'puzzel' is you have to figure out how to approach someone, or what the right questions to ask are, or who should you talk to next. And most of the straightforward puzzels are more realistic to an actual investigation. I was never doing something like combining a deflated pool toy, a fishing pole, and a band-aid so I could grab something (Longest Journey). Once I adjusted to the idea that I was conducting a more real world type investigation, I really enjoyed the game.

One of the hallmarks of a good game, imo, is when it's subtly addicting to the point I lose track of time. At one point I looked up and realized over 4 hours had passed! I had to do a double take!

Oh, and the world it's in is soo detailed. It's really amazing how much they put into it to make it come alive. I love that.

Zack & Wiki IS NOT AN ADVENTURE GAME!!! It is nice, but much more like a "Goblins" experience. And is nice to see a game like this on the Wii console, but I hope to play some real adventures on it too.

I am starting playing Culpa Innata too, it looks very unpolished, but I will try to finish it due to the very good reviews.
