Have been reading that the game is getting near perfect scores from all the major review sites and a few people on another web forum I visit have already played BioShock. One works for a game store and the staff evidently stayed up all last night playing an advance copy. According to him, it is an amazingly addictive and immersive thriller.
Cheers, Terry

Than again there is a game out where teenagers can summon demons by putting a gun to their head and pulling the trigger.

| Deleted User | Started the PC Demo download around 4:30AM (EST). Since it's a whopping 1.8Gb, the estimated download time was about 6.5 hours with my wireless broadband connection. At least it will be ready for when I get home from work. Hope to give it a whirl tonight, my grandson will be foaming at the mouth if he comes over today. Just hope it's as good as System Shock. I haven't been following it on the web because I want to go in green.

| Deleted User | Just finished playing the PC demo this evening and all I can say is WOW. If your a fan of System Shock, either try the demo or get this game. You won't be disappointed. It really looks to have everything going for it: atmosphere, story, sound, graphics, etc. Enjoy.

The atmoshpere, ambience, the sound is amazing in this game but I can't say that it's scary really. But F.E.A.R. , that was something else!..... but I digress.
I'm really into this game atm particularly when you have a host of different arsenals to use against the enemy. I love the rpg aspect of this game; it's quite intuitive plus the fact that your gameplay will differ from another gamer's gameplay experience. I've only started to hack more now that I've invested into this ability --- this'll save me on ammo. The last level I played, I used up all of my machine gun ammo and I had to rely on my incinerator plasmid ability to get me through until I've loaded up again.
Yes, highly recommended. Should you get the PC version, know that there is a 5 limit installation allowance and other caveats that go with this: http://www.2kgames.com/cultofrapture/cultofrapture.html http://www.joystiq.com/2007/08/24/joystiq-interviews-bioshocks-ken-levine-about-success-and-harve/

| Deleted User | Thanks for those links Jedicri, I'll have to check them out. It's going to be a hard decision to wait on this game or not. I have such limited time to play games and I just started Scratches-DC. The problem there is that once I start a game, I have to finish it. Also, I have some games that still need to be played. However, Bioshock has me in such a fever that I might just have to give in.

I just finished BioShock and I can sum it up by saying it is, by far, one of the most incredible experiences I've had in gaming.  rop-dead beautiful and rich environments; insane levels of audio detail; atmosphere gushing from every corner; incredibly realistic and believable AI; unique and FUN weaponry and skill customizations - this game has it all, people.
When I had to Save and stop, I could not wait for my next session. I thought about what I had experienced over and over in my mind. I felt sympathy, guilt, repulsion, anger and sometimes, oddly enough, peace and tranquility.
I'm desperately trying to NOT blow this game up to be the end all/ be all of gaming, but I am just so blown away by it all, I don't think it's possible.
If you like adventure games - if you like FPS's - if you like creepy, tension-filled, emotion thrashing games, please do yourself a favor and buy this game. Even if you don't consider yourself a "twitch" shooter type gamer, there are ways of playing that allow for the less skilled to play through this masterpiece as well.
I would love to hear what others think of BioShock. Next to Half Life 2, this is the sweetest gaming experience of my life. It's stuff like this that makes me so, so glad I am a gamer.
Playing: Skyrim: Dragonborn/Dawnguard; Torchlight 2; To The Moon; Far Cry 3
Finished: HomeFront; Far Cry 3; Dishonored
Always Playing: Half Life 2
Looking Forward To: BioShock: Infinite
Reading: BioShock: Rapture; SW: Revan

Deus Ex and System Shock 2 : If you haven't played these games yet I suggest you give them a try.

It's still one Bad @$$ game.
Truly.
And again, if you haven't played this masterpiece, it's cheaper now, so GO and get it... well, and play it too.
Geez... with all my pumping and pimping of this game you'd think I was making some side money to promote it.

| Deleted User | XerNosam, you had to resurrect this thread just when I thought I was getting close to lining up my next set of games. Now I have to start all over again. Honestly, I had kinda forgotten about this game. Remembering the demo though has me hyped-up again and I may have to put it in a top spot.

If you dug the demo, then you're in for one pleasant experience with the entire game. More creepy, more intense, more grotesque, more unnerving, more beautiful.
I'll be looking forward to your thoughts once you finish it, since, you know, it's number one on your list of games to play now. [smiley=happy.gif]

| Deleted User | Just don't know what I'm going to play right now. There is just so many games coming up and ones I haven't played yet that my head is spinning. I'm definitely going to pick up Bioshock though so I have a copy. I've only been keeping sort of a mental list of games to play. With the limited time I have to play, I really need to make a list and then prioritize them with horror and SciFi themes at the top of the list. Bioshock will be in there somewhere for sure. Happy gaming.
