As everyone knows who has completed the game, it turns out the Grand Master (the prime villian) from the first game is alive and well even though it was next to impossible for anyone to survive that blast at the end of the first game. But this isn't new in the world of fictional stories and movies and this makes a nice plot twist at the end when we all think Sussaro is the main baddy in charge. The problem I have with the plot of this game is an event that occurs much earlier, inside the secret crystal chamber in the theater. A few moments before this, Flap reports to Sussaro that an intruder has broken into the lower levels. It turns out this intruder has made it into the crystal chamber performing some kind of ritual and he is wearing the exact same outfit as the Grand Master. In fact Susarro mentions when he and Petra emerge from the elevator, "what is he doing here"? So who is this mysterious cloaked figure, is it the Grand Master? Is it one of the St Stephan templars? If it is in fact the GM, it totally wrecks the rest of the story for the reason I pointed out in the beginning. Also what caused that guy in the theater passageway to literally spill his guts? What was the guy inside the locked room so terrified of that he started shooting blindly?

They're only plot anomalies if the things you mention are unintentional and everything you commented on was put there for a purpose.

When Susarro comments on the mysterious guy, we don't say it's the GM, so you don't know who it is until near the end, but if we'd pulled that one out without foreshadowing it, then it would have been weaker.

Sorry but I didn't think you needed to add the term SPOILERS because I was in the game discussion forum and the title of the post kinda hints that some part or parts of the games plot might be discussed. This game has also been out for several years as well. It's like talking about an old Seinfeld episode and someone getting mad at that person just because he or she didn't happen to get around to see it. Just so I don't step on other people's toes, next time I will add "spoiler" to the subject line.

It's no big deal but we do get newcomers to the adventure game genre from time to time and some of them are also new to interactive games in general. So it's just a precautionary courtesy in case they happen upon a thread and start reading plot details, etc. that could spoil a game for them.

I think we avid gamers all sometimes forget that there are still hundreds of millions of people the world over who have never even played an electronic game or have any real experience with web forums. The latest estimate I've seen is that only 27% of active web users also play games on their computers. So essentially 7 out of 10 people on the net haven't a clue what interactive games or game forums are all about.

Cheers,  Terry

Gah!  My details of this game are rusty right now, otherwise I would probably/maybe/sort of be able to answer the last two questions in the orignal post.

I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.
