Status : Online | Thanks! It was amazing... and it's been a lifelong dream of mine to go. I wrote a LONG boring blog about it, and these are a few photos from there... but it was amazing to see the people, animals, culture...
My overall impressions: Chobe Park (Botswana): WOW, this is the place to go if you want to see animals. They let you get awfully close to them, and the guides are amazing.
Zimbabwe: An amazing country, wracked with horrifying poverty and economic troubles. But the people were so friendly, and outgoing and welcoming that seeing them suffer still makes my eyes wet.
Cape Town: Such a beautiful, multi-cultural place... and very welcoming and open. The city is gorgeous, and everything is so cheap.
Namibia: We only went to one park here, which was great, but not as prolific in animal sightings as Chobe. The people were very, very nice, but definitely more reserved than in Zimbabwe or Botswana.
Overall, if you are a bird watcher, or a photographer, a nature lover, or love plants/flowers... you MUST go to Africa... it was amazing...

My husband has been there several times over the past few years and seems to have very conflicting feelings about it. A beautiful but very troubled place. Im hoping that in the not to distant future Ill be able to join him on some of the more "exotic" locations he visits for work, South Africa being one of them. The pictures you took REALLY REALLY make me want to visit there.
