1) Would $50,000 be enough money to induce you to take a loyal, healthy pet to the vet to be put to sleep?

After thinking about it, this question is not very easy to answer. Generally I would say no, but then again if I needed the money and the pet was not a big, intelligent animal like a dog or something... who knows? However, I don't think a veterinarian would accept to do such a thing.

2) If a crystal ball would tell you the truth about any one thing you wished to know concerning your life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know?

Hard to say. Maybe "is there other forms of intelligent life in the universe". Or something like that...

3) Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend the night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?

No, I don't believe in such things, but I'm not ruling out the possibility. I wouldn't be afraid of a haunted house though, but I'd not go there unless there was something in it for me, like money or something...

4) If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?

Don't know really. The people I love knows about it. I don't have any dark secrets to reveal either.

5) You discover your 1 year old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the mistake?

Man, that's an awkward scenario! I would have to discuss it with the other parents involved. If we changed babies there would always be the special relationship to the other baby to consider. Probably I would like to follow that child's growth too.

6) Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture? Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?

I'd have to say men in general, but it's not like it's all easy for us either. We have to live up to the image of men being strong, taking the initiative... I also think more or less everyone has thought about experience life as the other sex. But wished... No, in my case probably not. It would be interesting for a day or too, but I'm fine with the way I am right now.

1) Never ever!!!!! Not even for a $ 1.000.000. BTW, Sennebec, your dog is absolutely gorgeous!!

2) Where can I find Atlantis.

3) No, not really, but I probably would after spending a night alone in a supposedly haunted house with no sleep .....

4) I don't think I'd regret anything. But I think I would be really sad not being able to say goodbye to anyone.

5) I get attached to important things so easily (after two minutes or so ... it's really bad), so a child for one year. Emotionally I don't think I could part with it. But I guess it would bother me not knowing my true offspring.

6) Men have it easier. Although sometimes the innocent look of a woman (especially in IT-surroundings) can do miracles
. Having been the only woman in a team of (otherwise) 10 men, I have never wished to be a man. I sometimes wished some of the men wouldn't be as childish as they sometimes were ...

Unity, what are you making?
I'm building a graphical user interface using Trolltech's Qt, a GUI library for C++. THe GUI is for a prototype that'll hopefully impress potential investors.

Am I going to finish my PhD by 30?

3) Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend the night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?
Evil spirits: YES. Ghosts: If I saw one, maybe I'd believe it. OooH!!! Spooky, I'd bring in some friends and let the ghost watch begin.

4) If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?
I have no regrets.

Yes. I've carried it in my tummy for 9 months! I cant just loose my poor baby in some mix up.

6) Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture?
Men.

Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?
Nope.

I hope not, but I couldn't answer definitely unless faced with the situation.

2) If a crystal ball would tell you the truth about any one thing you wished to know concerning your life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know?

Nothing.

3) Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend the night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?

Yes, I do believe, but I'd probably be willing to spend the night in a allegedly haunted house.

4) If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?

I'd say my friends and family know how I feel about them, and I know how they feel about me. I don't think I'd have any regrets regarding that.

5) You discover your 1 year old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the mistake?

One year old...I don't know. I don't think I have an answer for this one.

6) Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture? Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?

Men have it easier, and yes, I'm content to be male.

Maybe......with the money I could buy another pet. But, deep down, I don't think I could actually do it.

2) If a crystal ball would tell you the truth about any one thing you wished to know concerning your life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know?

How much my kids really love me.

3) Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend the night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?

Yes, though I never experienced any super-natural beings. Alone.......hmm.......I think I'd be too scared for that.

4) If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?

I would regret not telling my family why I died.

5) You discover your 1 year old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the mistake?

No.....I would never be able to give up my child that i had raised for a whole year.

6) Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture? Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?

Men. After seeing that movie Boys Don't Cry....I don't think so.

No!

2) If a crystal ball would tell you the truth about any one thing you wished to know concerning your life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know?

No!

3) Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend the night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?

No and Yes - I would gladly stay in the house.

4) If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?

been there - I held back during life as I knew it would be hurtful/cause fights.
Then spent two years fuming with anger that I'd said nothing when I had the chance  :-X

5) You discover your 1 year old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the mistake?

Not if my biological child was happy.
And then I'd want to keep them both

6) Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture? Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?

I think it's tougher for men than they think - in most cultures.
I've never wanted to be a man - despite being a tomboy.

The kings of thread hijacking strikes again...

My development environment is Visual C++ 6.0. I'm running this on my home computer, which is ridicolously old and unstable(P2 233 MHz with 96 MB RAM running Win98 ). Luckily, work-sponsored upgrades to both HW and SW are coming this week. Soon I'll be running Visual Studio .NET on WinXP on a P4 2 GHz with 512 MB RAM. What sucks is we don't need .NET, and Qt doesn't fully support it yet, but 6.0 is impossible to get here anymore, and my current version is an expired academic license (shhh....

That bad, huh? I only need it for C++ development. Any experiences to share before it's too late to cancel the purchase and change to Borland?

I think it is possible that ghosts/evil spirits are "existing !

Yes, if there are sources of light ...

Probably nothing.
I always told/tell those people I really love and care for what I feel for them.

Yes

1) Would $50,000 be enough money to induce you to take a loyal, healthy pet to the vet to be put to sleep?

no, no, never.

2) If a crystal ball would tell you the truth about any one thing you wished to know concerning your life, the future, or anything else, what would you want to know?

I honestly would like to know how long i had left, so i could use it more wisely. (I thrive under deadlines lol)

3) Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend the night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?

I can be spooked, and i find the idea romantic, but i'm pretty skeptical in general about that which is not based in fact.

4) If you were to die this evening with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them yet?

no regrets...i already express my feelings openly.

5) You discover your 1 year old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the mistake?

yikes...i can't imagine. I would be honest, but I would want both children in my life.  tough one.

6) Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture? Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?

men have it easier.  i would only want to be a woman. (i could go for being a man for a day here and there, just for curiosity's sake).

That which makes one happy is not a waste of time
