I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on what exactly is happening with this.  I've been to the Nucleosys forums, and it seems like people there are already playing it, and yet I get the sense from some posts that it's not 'officially' out yet.  There's certainly no update on the Nucleosys homepage.

There's also this from Agustin:

Jokes aside, I also wanted to let you know that there's a big surprise on the way, especially being made for the Director's Cut edition. And this is going to be big in every sense of the word!

I'm assuming this refers to downloadable content, or content accessed via the website.  Can anyone clear all this up for me?  I seem to be very confused.

Yes, I saw that.  I was just wondering why it's slipped so far under the radar.  I'm also wondering what all this talk of extraextra content is.  I don't want to buy the Director's Cut only to find out that there's a Director's Cut of the Director's Cut.  Not that Nucleosys would ever do that, but I have heard of bugs in the DC.

I literally noticed this at Best Buy yesterday. $20 USD.

I too want to know what it includes! The ending left a bit to be desired.

Has anyone played the new Director's Cut? I haven't played the original, and I figure if I'm going to buy one might as well be this new version.

See, I'm a bit of a scaredy cat. I can't stomach things with gore (I can't watch any horror movies and I barely got through the RPG Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines) and spooky games make me jump out of my chair and scream, although sometimes I like it.

If this game is similar to the Dracula games that came out around 2000 (Resurrection and The Last Sanctuary) then it's something I could play.

So.. is this game spooky-scary or gore-scary?

You would probably like it.  There is very little gore, most of the frights are the result of the creepy atmosphere and are psychological.  There are a few skeletons and only one scene that features blood.
