So the last episode in season one has been released.

I for one have had great fun with the games.

As a Season 1 subscriber I look froward to the DVD release and they have made the following announcement.

http://www.telltalegames.com/store/samandmax-season1-disc

Available in June it will include

What's On The Disc?

• Hybrid DVD containing all six episodes on the data side, and hours of original video content on the video side!

• 10-20 minute cutscene reels from all six episodes, including over two hours of DVD commentary tracks by the game designers and production team!

• Reams of concept art!

• Sam & Max Season One blooper and outtake reel!

• All 15 machinima shorts, and the 3 IGF shorts!

• Trailers for the six episodes, and the E3 trailer!

• Surprise bonus content!

But more importantly for SirDave and AYA etc

[highlight]Will the episodes on the disc require online activation?
[size=16]No, they won't. You'll need your disc in the drive to play, but that's it. See, we do listen to you guys!

Okay, they've totally redeemed themselves although I'd like to think that the squawking from malcontents & ingrates like me (that's a joke damnit
) contributed to their removing any validation procedure (since they do say 'hey, we do listen to you guys.')

This is totally cool.

The future ain't what it used to be!

I just finished up the last episode. I won't retract my earlier complaints about the series, but I have to admit it was still a lot of fun. Can't wait until season 2!

Very cool, all that bonus content. I would have been happy with the inclusion of just the machinima shorts, so it's great to hear they've gone above and beyond that.

I wish they'd get the rest of it right - I hate hunting down NOCD cracks for my games.

What?

that is excellent news indeed! 8-) i agree with sirdave, that telltale totally redeemed themselves, not only in the drm terms, but in all terms, ie a full game (no episodes) on dvd (no dloads) [smiley=clap.gif] [smiley=clap.gif] [smiley=clap.gif] they will certainly have my full support on this, and who knows, maybe they will pave the way to stop this drm stupidity (and maybe we'll see a full exchange student, with no drm crap soon after this!)

hats off to telltale for doing the right thing and listening to what the gamers want... not only did they make the hasty ones, who don't care about dloads and drms and want episodes right now, happy, but they also cared for the original adventurers who want full games in boxes! are you listening ragnar? :

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Just had a thought and this may have been discussed in the other thread... if a game comes as download only and there are not retail boxes of it on the shelf at Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Electronic Boutique, "brick and mortar" stores, then the possibility of someone getting into gaming just buy browsing games in the store is eliminated. I see people every time I'm at a store browsing the game ailses and they are looking at all the genres. Just a thought.

We can be heroes, just for one day.

I was wondering wether I should buy the downloadable episodes with the DVD option at the end, or wait for the Adventure Company release, but seeing that the DVD requires no confirmation I went and ordered the entire season five minutes ago.

Having all those goodies doesn't hurt, either.

Well, I'll be darned.  I'm very surprised at the turnaround on the activation
issue.  Activation is bad enough.  But for me it was the number of activations that was
the hardest thing to swallow.  Essentially, it meant that you were renting the games,
the rental period being different for everyone.  And it virtually knocked the legs
out of the second hand market.  I'm flabbergasted at just how much a reversal this is.
Bravo!

This series has turned out to be the best games I've played this year
(along with Destination, Treasure Island).  [smiley=clap.gif]

It's very good news, but unfortunately the download option just isn't possible for me at the moment. I'll have to wait until the official retail release - doesn't really matter that much as I'm not really interested in the extras anyway. I'd also like to wait until I've seen more reviews evaluating the season as a whole, not just individual episodes.
