What do I do when I finish and game and I'm in the urgent need of another, but it's too late to go out to the store and I have little time to play?  I search for a demo!

Can anyone recommend good newish demos?

(BTW...I got halfway through Dreamfall last summer and hated it. I just played it through again and couldn't get enough. Yeah, it was short and obvious, but I loved it.  What happened to me????)

I assume you mean Adventure Games. There are the freeware games listed in the stickies above. They tend to be pretty short and good for a quick gaming session.

Otherwise there's the Tunguska demo out there somewhere along with Black Mirror.

Well, since this is an adventure forum, yeah, I meant adventure games. Thanks for the leads.  Most of the free games are cartoons...which I I cannot tolerate.  But I've already been pouring over the links, thanks. And I"m assuming you mean Black Mirror 2?

Yeah, I have a hard time with most of the freeware games too. I applaud those that make them, but most fall short of catching my interest.

No, I was talking about the first Black mirror in case you haven't played that one yet.  My bad though, I should have read your post closer since you said 'newish' demos. There's a Runaway 2 demo out right now.  It didn't quite hold my interest though. :-/

I would suggust Secret Files of Tunguska, I started out with the demo and then bought the game. I just finished the game I found it to be as good as The Longest Journey. You travel to many neat places and the acting I thought was good too. The graphics I found where so well done. It was really a fun game and I would even compare it to the Syberia games with making it feel like you where on the expedition.

There are many great demos out there:

Secret Files: Tunguska as well as Runaway 2 and also the demo for Broken Sword: Angel of death
(or Secrets of the Ark in the U.S).

If you're interested in this sort of thing you can go to Wadjet Eye games and download the demo for The Shivah and The Blackwell Legacy. (they are abit different, but very well written and with great stories, imo).

I did play the Tunguska demo and was very impressed visually.  As good as TLJ?  I'm sold.

Thanks, I got Broken Sword demo last night per your recommendation (although not the US title...couldn't 'find it).  And thanks for the other suggestions, too.

Any of you involved with Myst Online URU Live?
