I see this just came up for preorder in the JA store. Has anyone heard what extra material it will have?

Hm, curious about this one as well, yes.
Maybe it'll also include the soundtrack on a separate cd, like they started selling some time ago? Interestingly enough, I've read over at adventuregamers that Scratches has finally hit the shelves of one store chain in Belgium and The Netherlands, in the budget section at that. Once I get better (stuck at home with the flue at the moment
), I'll check it out. Looking forward to finally playing this one!  8-)

OK, I found this description for it over at the Got Game Entertainment store:

"Alternate ending and 2 additional hours of gameplay are included in a new chapter to this popular atmospheric mystery adventure game for the PC, brimming with eerie twists and terrifying surprises. Set in and around a solitary Victorian mansion concealing a terrible secret, a long since forgotten story from the past emerges to haunt the present. A careful combination of inventory-based and deductive-style puzzles, integrated with a riveting storyline, non-linear gameplay, intricately detailed graphics, and an entrancing soundtrack, immerse you in a haunting Gothic atmosphere."

I wrote Agustin about the game but as of tonight I haven't heard from him. I loved the original Scratches so I'll have to have this one too. I just hope it isn't the same game without anything different. Not that I still wouldn't love it but I would be a little dissapointed.

Me and Ksandra seem to be in the same boat.
Can anyone offer us some help?

Play.com and Amazon UK don't have it in stock? (Apparently not, from what I see.) Well, Got Game Entertainment ships their games internationally. So does the Just Adventure store. Got Game's international shipping costs are horrible, though. JA's are a lot better.

JA has it for sale. Here is the link for it.

Is there a reason you didn't get it from here?
I enjoyed the game so much. It was really a neat game.

...which is exactly where I got Scratches from.

No muss, no fuss. Arrived in three days or less (I'm in the U.S. though, so your mileage may vary).

I like the Buy Games at Just Adventure+ store - a lot!

maybe the game is not so boring this time around...with a lil bit more death in the story and a way to leave the phone of the hook

Wow, this guy over at adventuregamers was right, I ran down to a local Bart Smit store, and yes, a bunch of copies of Scratches in a bargain bin for 3 Euros a piece!  8-) Funny though, as this game has never been released in Belgium/The Netherlands. The box features the PEGI label (12+), so it's a European release alright. The English on the back cover is not without mistakes though, so I'm doubting it is a UK release. Still bottom line: I can finally play this game, as I finally got my hands on an English language release of this game!  8-)

I don't particularly like buying online and I especially don't like buying from abroad. I was hoping the game would eventually be released in the UK, but since that doesn't seem to be happening, I guess buying it from JA might be a good idea.

Lucky for you, the same seems to apply for the Dutch Bart Smit stores and also stores called E-Plaza or something (check out the adventure deal forum), so you won't have to travel to Belgium for Scratches.
Besides, there are soooo many better reasons to come to Belgium you know.

Hey everyone!

I think it's about time we started commenting on this... yes, the Director's Cut edition is on the works and will be formally announced soon. This is far from being a shameful rip-off though. It will consist of features that couldn't make it to the first game and then some. Among the greatest additions is a brand new chapter bringing a breathtaking conclusion to the story and completely revamped graphics (I probably shouldn't be saying this yet [smiley=whistle.gif]).

Anyway, even casual players of the game should take a look. Hardcore fans should stand in line right now!

As for UK, the game is being released there, and sooner than you think.

We weren't aware of the situation in Belgium though... let's just say the publisher there didn't honor our deal and is doing everything he wasn't supposed to >

Any behind the scenes stuff about the making of Scratches? You know, stuff like you and Alejandro bleery-eyed in front of the computer surrounded by pizza boxes?

It was planned, but we won't make it. You have NO idea what we're going through here... you'll see why soon

But we might attempt the behind the scenes stuff to promote the new edition (not a huge feature, but a few videos).

Hey I can't wait for one. I will buy it the minute it is released. I see JA is saying preorder it as it will available March 30th I think it was. I don't preorder but the day it is out I'll be buying it. I enjoyed scratches so much it wouldn't matter if it was just little update I'd buy it but a new chapter makes it even better. Cool.

That Royal Copenhagen plate will be no longer "junk", yes?

That revision alone will be worth my having a second copy.

Hey, I can think pretty damn soon
Good news on a UK release, would this be for the Director's Cut?

Unless my eyes are deceiving me, I see a rainbow apple next to the director's cut version.  If a Mac version is in the works, I'm thrilled!

Wasn't Scratches initially released March 2006?  So that would make this a 1 year anniversary release or something.

I miss my Bubba: 1986 - 2006.
