Interestingly enough, I've read over at adventuregamers that Scratches has finally hit the shelves of one store chain in Belgium and The Netherlands, in the budget section at that. Once I get better (stuck at home with the flue at the moment ), I'll check it out. Looking forward to finally playing this one! 8-)

"Alternate ending and 2 additional hours of gameplay are included in a new chapter to this popular atmospheric mystery adventure game for the PC, brimming with eerie twists and terrifying surprises. Set in and around a solitary Victorian mansion concealing a terrible secret, a long since forgotten story from the past emerges to haunt the present. A careful combination of inventory-based and deductive-style puzzles, integrated with a riveting storyline, non-linear gameplay, intricately detailed graphics, and an entrancing soundtrack, immerse you in a haunting Gothic atmosphere."

http://www.justadventure.com/BuyGamesJA_PZ.shtm Is there a reason you didn't get it from here? I enjoyed the game so much. It was really a neat game.

No muss, no fuss. Arrived in three days or less (I'm in the U.S. though, so your mileage may vary).
I like the Buy Games at Just Adventure+ store - a lot!

The box features the PEGI label (12+), so it's a European release alright. The English on the back cover is not without mistakes though, so I'm doubting it is a UK release. Still bottom line: I can finally play this game, as I finally got my hands on an English language release of this game! 8-)

I don't particularly like buying online and I especially don't like buying from abroad. I was hoping the game would eventually be released in the UK, but since that doesn't seem to be happening, I guess buying it from JA might be a good idea.

Lucky for you, the same seems to apply for the Dutch Bart Smit stores and also stores called E-Plaza or something (check out the adventure deal forum), so you won't have to travel to Belgium for Scratches. Besides, there are soooo many better reasons to come to Belgium you know.

I think it's about time we started commenting on this... yes, the Director's Cut edition is on the works and will be formally announced soon. This is far from being a shameful rip-off though. It will consist of features that couldn't make it to the first game and then some. Among the greatest additions is a brand new chapter bringing a breathtaking conclusion to the story and completely revamped graphics (I probably shouldn't be saying this yet [smiley=whistle.gif]).
Anyway, even casual players of the game should take a look. Hardcore fans should stand in line right now!
As for UK, the game is being released there, and sooner than you think.
We weren't aware of the situation in Belgium though... let's just say the publisher there didn't honor our deal and is doing everything he wasn't supposed to >

But we might attempt the behind the scenes stuff to promote the new edition (not a huge feature, but a few videos).

I don't preorder but the day it is out I'll be buying it. I enjoyed scratches so much it wouldn't matter if it was just little update I'd buy it but a new chapter makes it even better. Cool.
