Status : Online | I don't know if it's that good... I like wandering about, and love some of the lower levels of action. Some of the group stuff is OK, but the big battle stuff is monotonous. (And I don't do the PvP fighting... I don't do duels.)
I like being a level 15 and fighting level 5's. (it's a power trip thing. a need to feel in control of my life... hee hee)
My highest level is 15 (hoarde warlock, and for a walking-dead person, i have a great body, i must say... even if my knee and elbow joint bones show). I'll admit, however, that at my current rate of play, i could get to higher levels fast. (*sigh*).
Honestly, I like going back to lower levels and helping out other people on their quests.... I'm a helper-dead-person with lots of magical powers. It's fun.

Okay I took the test... Here's my result: You seem to enjoy the game, and understand it, but it hasn't yet taken over your life. This is probably a good thing, depending on who you talk to.

Good to be back!
Well.....Avatar it could be worse.....you could have been playing Everquest.....and that one has had a lot of history about people losing even their lives playing it.
I already met one woman who was a banking executive and lost her..........mind!...job!...body cleasing rituals....body weight from not eating (took time away from playing the game)........playing Everquest!
I work in a psychiatric unit and I can tell you that this is not hearsay.....she was one of our patients! I was there when she was brought in by the police and the ambulance.
Stop playing..........stop playing!
It is just a game and you have better things to do and a life to lead.
Just do not know what to tell you right now without more info.
And I am sorry.............to put it this way...........THE HELL WITH THE STATS!
AVATAR!.........PLEASE!!!!....ITS JUST A GAME!

But his old guild broke up so hes been slightly depressed about it and hes now looking for another one. : He is completely obsessed with this game, I thought it was bad enough when he was addicted to "Starcraft" and didnt think it could get any worse...but it did.
I had to treat him like one of the kids, one night he stayed up way to late for one of the neverending "Quests" and got up late for work. : He now has a curfew on work nights.

And I'm not crazy about the multiplayer part either, and how many things in that kind of game are off limits if you want to work alone . Now if someone ever created a MSPORPG (Massively Single Player Online Role Playing Game) I'd be there in a flash. I'd love a dynamic ever changing world to explore -- just by myself, without all the hassles that having all those people playing at once bring to it. But that's just me, apparently, seeing how popular MMORPG's are.

| Deleted User | Reasons why I don't start playing these games seriously:
- They take a HUGE amount of time, and I have better things to do on my free time that I don't want to give up.
- The monthly cost puts me off. The only MMORPG I've given serious time is Anarchy Online because you could get a free account for a limited amount of time.
- The nature of all these games that I've seen so far is extremely repetitive. I find the missions boring and all the same. In a virtual, social world I want to be able to do things, rather than endless fighting of monsters to gain stats. I know it's not all that simple, but overall I am not impressed with the offerings I've seen so far.
- I don't have an addictive personality. I grow tired of increasing in levels and don't get enough kicks from it to keep caring. I don't care for the social status part of it either. It is much more fun to play in groups, but it's not really that rewarding for me.
Those are just personal opinions, I don't look down on the millions of people who love these games, some of which are my best friends... I think the format has a lot of unused potential, and if they offered more things to do in them, (which I am sure they will in the future) and with another format than the standard RPG systems so that other types of goals would be available, I'm sure I could get hooked as well.

May I suggest Garden gnomes.
You can get them doing all sorts of helpful activities for your home or garden. You can paint them (nice relaxing therapeutic activity), you can send them on holidays with your neighbours (I've heard some gnomes even send postcards home to their owners), you can tell them all your secrets and fears and aspirations and they'll never laugh at you, never tell you to clean up your room and never ignore you and turn on the TV..... and when you get really angry at something you can take a dirty big hammer and smash the bejesus out of their stupid silly grinning faces. [smiley=angel_smiley.gif] And then you get to buy them all over again....
Really, they sound the perfect antidote...

They also have a tendecy to be stolen and either be held for ransom (with pictures sent to you in captivity) or be victims of arson. They also tend to act as spoke persons for travel agencies

I figure it's going to be like when I stayed up all night playing Myst V - once I get tired of it, I'll just stop playing.
I hope.
P.S. That south park episode was HYSTERICAL.

You need to think like a male to get into this guild system and enjoy the group combat.
Frankly, if you do disable your brain to accomplish this, won't you miss it when you return to real life?

Maybe Caroline that might also be one of the reasons why I never play MMORPG'S. Besides the addition of bying the game, and paying a fee every month really bugs me. Not to mention that I always play as a female. Love it that way.
So getting into them is not my cup of tea.
The only exception to this rule was the game Gothic. That one really hooked me in, but I loved the idea of always being able to save anywhere and most important............not getting my butt kicked by some scrawny and geeky 12 year old playing on the same game.
I like playing them SOLO! But only if it is an adventureous role playing game like Gothic.
The only other one as well that caught my attention was Call Of Duty. The AI characters made me feel as a part of a cadre of players and still left me to play on my own at my own pace.

Same here, which is why I never got into these MMORPG thingies. Besides, one of my friends met his wife whilst playing Everquest... he in AUS, she in the USA... I think thats taking the guild thing too far
My daughter is making noises about wanting to try WOW, but being as this is her VCE year, it has been banned!

But hey, if you like Warcraft, I just got a new shipment that's real sweet. This stuff is pure magic. It's pricey, but you'll know where the money went, cause it's real special, you see. Don't wait to long to cell me, cause my stash is goin' fast. Pass me by and you don't get high.
