It's for the pros, this one... My last hope was to beat Wimli at least - but I wont. I don't know any of the games this week.... Sigh....
This is definitely the hardest one for me. I have missed a few that I definitely should have gotten, like Myst or Gabriel Knight 1. But those games only account for a handful of points. The real challenge for me comes from the fact that are only about 20 games in this tournament that I've played. And I've played just under one hundred adventure games, counting freeware and episodic stuff, so I can't blame my inexperience. Aya simply has been very, very good at picking games I haven't played!

Status : Offline | a small update on the happenings in the top 3... at the moment, superedy is 11 pts ahead of papa, who hasn't sent any guesses yet... with no double-pointers available this week, papa will need a full sweep (worth 12.5 pts) and hope for superedy to not guess more than 1.5 pts worth... 11 pts from papa will bring things to a tie, but i don't believe superedy won't score any more pts... lady k is now out of the 1st place battle and is aiming for 2nd

Status : Offline | another small update! papa scores 1.5 more pts, and now needs 1.5 to tie the current score... of course 1.5 is not available since he has 3 1pt pics left, so he absolutely has to guess 2 of those... this would bring him 0.5 pt ahead, but superedy is probably going to guess more pics, so a 3/3 for papa is the only way

papa gave a good fight right at the end, but the gap, as created after week 11, was too big to be covered... like i said, one bad week can mean the whole tourney, and papa was waiting for superedy to have his bad week this week, but that didn't happen... superedy finishes first and wins the culpa innata copy, and should be prepared for a big surprise, which will be announced on fri! papa gets 2nd place, and wins a copy of safecracker... the daemonica copy will randomly go to one of the other 8 ppl that finished in the top 10

| Deleted User | Thank you again Aya for a fun tourney. With the month-long break in the action...this tourney felt like it lasted a year. I'm glad it's over though since my free-time is extremely limited. Congrats to SuperEdy (I assume it is qurious...though I may be wrong). LadyK gets my utmost appreciation though. And a thanks to Petunia......Bastich for graciously giving us a chance at such a great prize. You are, by far, the Screenshot King and I bet you would have scored at least in the 130s.

Status : Offline | there's always a kinda sad feeling when this time comes... not posting new pics, not waking up to new guesses, not calling upon higher math to do 44.5+7.5... it's always smth that's missed after it's over
so, superedy is the new winner... 1st tourney, 1st victory! 8-) papa and ladyk did great, but one bad week each was enough... also, superedy has his incredible accuracy on the #10 pics to thank for his victory (how many 4-pointers did he score? 3? 4?)
speaking of #10 pics, you ppl didn't leave without a bang, did you... having almost as many correct guesses for 1893 as for loom (and a pic with the swans no less) took your insanity to whole new levels! i won't be surprised if i ever post the title screen of grim fandango, with the letter g missing, and a blue square respresenting the sky from some underground, indie, text adventure for the amstrad 6128, and i get more guesses for the latter... :
this tourney featured a new system of guesses, which apparently didn't work... i am talking about the buying of guesses of course... store went bankrupt, with only 1 guess being sold to elfstone (which worked out nicely for him!)... i guess nobody is ready for points as currency!
i don't know which tourney this was (counting the forum ones too), but i know that now the only ones that have participated in each and every major tourney are elfstone, andromus and shany... i may keep the tourneys going just to see who will be the last man or woman standing!
new ppl appeared too... apart from superedy, there were plenty of other very good players, who will make a difference if there is another tourney next year... without undermining anyone else, blount stood out for me, mainly because he made the top 10 after missing 4 weeks! he could have been in the top 5 if he had played from the start, and next time he could even be going for top 3... excluding bastich, being by far the top player who plays in a league of his own, there are several players now that, if all participated giving 100%, there could be a tourney that would have 5 or 6 ppl fighting for first place until the last second! hopefully, if there's another tourney, we will see that happening! (who knows, maybe qrious will decide to leave checken-mode too! )

Well, sorry to disappoint you but it's the first time I have taken part to a tourney (actually it's also the first time I write in a forum) so I'm completely new to this kind of stuff. I just happened to see the ad of the Kaos trivia in JA main page in November and I thought it was a nice idea.

I, too, always feel a letdown when a long tourney like this comes to an end, but I'm also breathing a sigh of relief because this last week overlapped with the start of the Mystery Manor tourney, which I'm helping to run. Maybe now I'll be able to get to bed at a decent hour instead of falling asleep at the computer while searching for screenshots. [smiley=sleeping.gif]
Regarding trivias, I have one or two ideas I'd like to try out here myself. Stay tuned.

This was my first tourney, but not the last one! I'm happy to have gotten 4th place, which is an improvement over a couple of tourneys where I got 5th or 6th place (or worse).
I like it how with every touney there are small changes, some in scoring, some in difficulty, and since there are new adventures coming out every year the game gets a little more complicated each time.
oh, and a final word of wisdom to the old forum players: if it looks old and you don't know it, it doesn't mean it's shadowgate or uninvited!!!
Yeah, I was surprised not to see such games as Uninvited, Deja Vu 1, Shadowgate, Nippon Safes or Ingrid's Back.
But there were still some old favourites like Tass Times in Tonetown, Gag, Jinxter, Pyst, Gnap, Dungeon Quest and Guilty Bastards (Those last two were only used once before, but they're pretty memorable).
I checked myself after the tournament ended, it turns out I only played 32 games out of 130, 2 of which I played after they appeared (Orient Express and Runaway 2).
I missed 7 out of those 32 games, which is pretty bad...
There were also 17 games that I only played a small part of, mostly from demos.
Thanks again for a great tournament!

Doh! (OK, I only put down Shadowgate for a guess once this tourney. We won't talk about past tourneys, though.)
Anyway, for whatever it's worth, my final stats:
I've played 21 games used in this tournament, and correctly guessed 13 of those. I've correctly guessed 13 games I haven't played.

Status : Offline | since everyone is counting, i thought i'd count too... so from the 130 games used, i have only played 68 a pretty low number me thinks (technically, it's 66 + 0.5 for rose tattoo, which i stopped playing halfway thru, +almost1 for broken sword 4, which i'm playing right now)
and if someone else was posting those and i was playing, then i'd probably have guessed around 5 :

Yeah, me too, I finished Runaway 2 this weekend and I now recognize that bull pic.
