A few days ago I visited the site of Legend with the hope of buying a compilation of all its wonderful txt advs (Gateway, Eric, etc). I was very surprised that the page shows "Unreal" as one of the games developed by this company. So, anyone knows if the same people who used to design txt advs was behind the production of Unreal? I found it quite curious...

I thought it was developed by Epic Megagames.

Actually, today I came across a box  "Unreal" and many companies logos were in it, Epic was one of them but Legend appeared as well.

Interestingly enough, Bob Bates (of Infocom fame) is heavily involved in Legend Entertainment and is actively involved in game design and production for them....

It is indeed the same company. Legend has sort of transitioned into action games from adventures. Their last adventure was The Blackstone Chronicles. Then they made The Wheel of Time, which some dub an action-adventure. Then they did the Unreal mission pack, Return to Na Pali, for Epic, or whoever it is who makes Unreal. That was included in the Unreal Gold set, so that's why you might see the Legend logo on an Unreal box. Legend also created the recently released Unreal 2. Clear? : )

As Howard mentioned, Bob Bates, who created Sherlock and Arthur for Infocom, is a studio head for Legend, and also created their games Timequest and Eric the Unready.
