My "solution" to the physical backup issue is to put all my downloaded stuff on its own hard drive. Talk about physical.

I download games from Big Fish all the time, with out any problems. I think you just have to use reliable sites.

I've bought many games off Steam and I've had zero issues with it...

No CD swapping
No unnecessary boxes to add to the landfill/recycle
Right-Click -> Install -> Finish... EZ!

And SOON server side game saves!  Load the game up on any PC and continue where you left off...

As a side note HOWEVER, I buy tangible copies of all AG's I acquire.  Even if I can d/l it online.
on't know why, just do.

Playing: Skyrim: Dragonborn/Dawnguard; Torchlight 2; To The Moon; Far Cry 3

Finished: HomeFront; Far Cry 3; Dishonored

Always Playing: Half Life 2

Looking Forward To: BioShock: Infinite

Reading: BioShock: Rapture; SW: Revan

I am waiting for Good Old Games to go live.

For a modest per game price, you can download classic games which have been tweaked to run on XP and Vista, with no DRM, which you can install on as many systems as you please and burn to as many CDs as you could want.

Sounds like a winner.
