as my opinion to this question,it's a definite buy game,it's a great storyline based on true events happened in france.
I think the gabriek knights series are all worth buying,my favorite is gk2 because it's an fmv game which i adore and gb3 is 3D and for the time of it's release, looks still great and is definitely worth buying and playing and is point ,click, look ,find and use object game

you'll not regret buying,well I never regretted

Hi, Krispy! Um, not exactly knowing the location of "downtown where the lights are", a "tenner" could mean $10.00 USD, 10 Euros, 10 lira, 10 ducets, 10 coconuts, etc.

If you mean $10.00 United States Dollars, then: Yes! By all means.

Lovely game. And don't be afraid to ask for hints if you get stuck.

For example, there's a particular kitty-cat that you may need to help you (but rather indirectly).

Please proofread your posts carefully to see if you any words out.

YES!! It's worth it!  GK3 is one of my prized possessions - 10 US dollars or even 10 GBP is a good deal!  It's in the old style of point/click, explore at your leisure, talk to people.   [smiley=thumbup.gif]

You might have better luck finding GK3 at one of the gaming forums, I see it for sale or trade every now and then.

gk3 features some of the worst controls imaginable (although some ppl say they liked them [smiley=shrug.gif])... if you can get over that, gk3 is one of the best adventures you will ever play 8-)

and unless by "tenner" you meant 10 bars of gold or smth, it definately is a bargain

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

Yes I agree  too. The Gk seiries it one of the best.  The stories all link together pretty well so if you haven't played any of them I would say start with the first.

Lol, don't think we'll ever agree on that one.
I loved the controls in GK3, best ever! 8-) They gave you more freedom than any adventure game had ever done before. Then again, there's not a single aspect of this game that I didn't like. For me, it's my favourite adventure game of all time, no contest!  8-)

GK3 is also available in a few budget ranges (at least it used to be), like 'Xplosive' and 'The Game Collection'. Could be that those are even cheaper than £10, if they are available in the UK. Then again, this game is worth about any price, so a tenner is nothing compared to the gaming experience that is waiting for you.

Of course, I have to back Wimli up and say that the controls are almost perfect that way.
And sure enough, GK3 is one of my all-time favorite games, mainly for story and some really cool puzzles (not saying, there's arent lackluster ones as well, because that is true).

I found GK3's controls off putting at first, but once I got used to flitting about almost ghost like, I decided they were among the most innnovative and best I had come across. I think all of half a dozen people felt that way, which was too bad. I would have loved to see them used again.

.

Make that at least a half dozen and one Andromus.

I too loved the controls in GK3 and really didn't need any time to get used to them. The optional, free-roaming first person zooming was a great feature. It made getting around the maps so much faster and easier than watching Gabe or Grace plod back and forth through areas you had already been to several times and explored thoroughly. Of course, at any time you could simply release the mouse button and automatically go back to a classic third person view. The little action / examine / talk menu was also easy and intuitive plus the in-game inventory, laptop and fingerprint kit interfaces were nearly perfect.

Cheers,  Terry

Stop it, you're making me want to play it all over again!
That way I'll never get through my huge pile of unplayed/unfinished games.

For me Gk3 was about the first 3d game I played. I didn't see too much I didn't like about the controls but I thought the quality had dropped way down comparing it to GK2.  I was realy unhappy that it wasn't FMV. The only thing that made it a good game was the story and it was really good.

Yesterday I found GK3 for sale for 0.90 €... as well as Zork Grand Inquistor... too bad I had already paid way too much for them

nearly 50€ for GK some years ago and 12€ for Zork some months ago)...weirdest thing was that I found another copy of GK in the same store at 10€... :

I agree somewhat, except even after getting over the controls, I still thought the game had too many annoying quirks to continue. Strange thing is I loved GK1 and the same voicing was used for GK in GK3, but I found his delivery really poor in GK3. 2 other people I know who loved GK1, hated GK3, so its still no guarantee.

Most people on these boards rave about it though, so for a tenner you'd be mad not to at least give it a go.

Deleted UserThe thing is, you need to play through the first day to get to the really good stuff. It gets awesome later on. The finale disappointed me, but still... what a ride!

When you play Gabriel Knight 3, you're not only playing one of the all-time best adventure games but also playing a bit of history.  I always feel that way when I play any game in this groundbreaking series.

But I also moisten up a bit when replaying Space Quest 3.  Alas, poor Vohaul!  We hardly knew ye!
