We still need a lot of people to take part in the study, and we're particularly short of women--only about 7% of the entries have been female so far.
Have you heard about games like Everquest and wondered what all the fuss was about? If you've ever been curious to try an online "massively multiplayer" game, here's your chance to do it for free.
If you aren't interested yourself, see if there's anyone you know who might be willing to try, and send them the web page to check it out: www.umich.edu/~rpgstudy
Thanks!

If you have a powerful computer the graphics are as good as they get.

Status : Online | I've never played a massively multiplayer online game before, but I looked at the site. Not only does the game look beautiful (love those new 3D engines), but it looks like they redesigned the game to be kinder to newbies. I hope they pick me, though realistically I can just buy the game and pay the monthly subscription fee myself.
As for other online games coming out later, check out - Uru: Online Ages Beyond Myst - http://uru.ubi.com/ , and Everquest II - http://everquest2.station.sony.com/ .
Both games look very interesting to me. One interesting fact, in the Everquest II FAQ - "One of the main focuses for EverQuest II is to design methods of gameplay that will facilitate both casual and hardcore players." I like that. It's nice that there is finally some recognition that there are people out there who want to play an online multiplayer came, and have a positive experience, but they don't want to play all the time.
All for now.
Regards, mszv

Status : Online | We've collected almost 1,000 surveys, and 400 of those people will get a game in the mail. So the odds are nearly 50-50 for you to get one.
The survey site will stay open until midafternoon today (Sunday).

Status : Offline | Hey, I was just notified that I've been chosen and Asherons Call 2 is on the way!
Believe it or not, I have never actively participated in an online game. I did participate in some online beta testing for Ultima Online before it went public, but it was so sluggish and boring that I have never tried again. Plus, people were always walking up to me and killing me.
If anyone else from the forum is chosen, let us know and maybe we can look for each other online.

Status : Online | I apparently have NOT been notified that I will be receiving a copy of AC2. :'( Fortunately, I was lucky enough to stumble upon a new game that should keep me busy for a while. Thanks again.
