After a ten year investigation, the killer of the little girl JonBenet Ramsey has finally been found and arrested.  A Mr. John Mark Karr was arrested yesterday in Bangkok, Thailand.  He claims her death was an accident but I don't know?  This also means that the consparicy of the girls parents involved in the murder can be push to rest.

He's been charged but not convicted. Even the lawyers & prosecutors close to the case are not saying it is definitely solved yet.

There are defintely still unanswered questions.  For one, the guy's ex-wife says he was with her when the murder occurred.

Also, he claimed to have drugged her, but no drugs were found in her system during the autopsy.

I have a weird feeling about it all.  Something just doesn't add up and make sense.  When that serial killer down in Gainesboro (Spelling?) was operating, some guy confesed for the attention who had serious 'issues'. Hopefully this is the guy so they can get this resolved, but it sure seems strange...the guy was SO calm when answering reporters questions and that whole "I loved Jon Benet." thing was odd.

Yeah, it doesn't seem to fit. I was almost certain someone in the family had to be involved.

Fascinating case.  I remember the Mother reportedly confessed to writing the ransom note.   We'll just have to wait and see.  But the man they've arrested certainly looked creepy and was already in custody on child sex charges.  I wonder if he just didn't fancy spending time in a foreign jail?

I'm not totally sure we can believe what she says.  She is probably looking out for her children.  It would be far better to have the childrens' father known as a "kook" who wants attention than a killer who murdered a young girl.

Agreed.  However I don't think the authorities are going to leap at him just to close the books.  They want DNA and a lot more details from him.

When he turns out not to be the murderer, will they return him to Thailand so he can be in jail there?

Well, surprise, surprise... His DNA didn't match and the charges have been dropped...

Blame that one on the media for hyping it all up.  I don't think the average man on the street here believed it was him.  They did a survey here last week and 70% said he was innocent, 10% said guilty, and 20% said not sure.

The funny thing was that Geraldo Rivera said a few days ago, "Mark my words, they got their man. This creep will end up getting what he deserves."  Wonder what he is saying now?  So much for being objective and just reporting the news... :

I am wondering about the DNA. I remember family members were suspected (more by the speculating media than by the detectives actually saying things) but did they test the DNA sample against the father and whoever else they suspected.? Or did they refuse to take test? Because I think this would be a way to end all the speculation if doing a DNA test on family turns out to be negative.
