Now they'll announce that it's a 3D action-adventure with no mouse support, and most of the puzzles removed because they would 'interrupt the flow of the story'.

You have gotten the attention of the mysterious lady. She turns to face you. Her face is devoid of any flesh. You are frozen with horror as she begins ripping your body into a bloody mess.

That would be a low hit for Anaconda (kind of defeating the purpose). I'm sure this will be a fairly standard adventure.
Anyway, great news! Very unexpected...

The previous year (May of 2003 - exactly one year earlier), Randy had written a four-page article called "The Best Damn Jane Jensen Interview Ever" where Ms. Jensen first mentions Gray Matter on Page 3 of Randy's article.
Yep, Our Man Randy got there first! Both articles are great to re-read - especially now.
I had given up hope of it ever happening, so this is fantastic news.
Go, Jane! Go, Anaconda! Thanks, Randy!

I have read the script for Grey Matter and can say without fear that it will not only meet, but will excede the expectations of the adventure communtiy

Randy, if Gray Matter is anything like Ms. Jensen described in your "The Best Damn Jane Jensen Interview Ever" article - I'm in!
As described by Ms. Jensen herself in your 2003 interview (and I'm poorly paraphrasing snippets from your great article):
Gray Matter features both a male and a female protagonist wherein both the male and female main characters have lots to do...
He, a neurobiologist who lost his wife in a car accident, has become reclusive, mysterious, and now spends his time investigating extraordinary occurrences...
If she has kept these main character ideas...wow - I hope to heck I live long enough to see Gray Matter a reality.

So you could tell what the puzzles were like from the script? or did you mean the adventure community that cares about nothing but the story?

Of course, this is great to hear. And Gray Matter was officially told to be an adventure, everything else would be nothing short of a lie, so it's not gonna happen.

I was asked to read it and suggest any changes (not that my changes were implemented mind you, it was just that an outside opinion was wanted).
The puzzles are actually very inventive and unlike any I have ever seen before, but I really can't say anymore until I speak to Jane.

I am. I've dug up an old manual from King's Quest VI that she has written and also her novel Dante's Equation. Hope she will sign one or possibly both.

Think there's anyway you might be able to get an autograph from her for me?
Like just print out a wallpaper image or such from Gabriel Knight 3 or 2 and have her sign it with a personlized message to it? I'd love that, and I'd pay for the shipping and such for it to me.
Can't find any good high res wall papers though, cept on Mobygames.com but they got a watermark on the bottom. http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/gabriel-knight-3-blood-of-the-sacred-blood-of-the-damned/cover-art/gameCoverId,27466/

After reading little bits, pieces and rumors about Jane's next adventure game, it's good to finally see an official press release that acknowledges it. There was a lot of talk a few years ago about a whole new series she had planned and a possible deal with TAC but if memory serves, it fell through.
Here's a link to a slightly different version of the same DTP Entertainment announcement:
http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=10506
The news has also now been posted on a large number of other well established game sites across the web and Randy's confirmation really nails it. So I'm assuming it's solid and am really look forward to learning more about Gray Matter in the coming months.
Cheers, Terry
