Status : Offline | That's a good question. I have gotten so I look only for the point and click games with no action. I used to buy almost any of them but I have had so many games latly that were impossible to control or crashed all the time that I would just as soon stay with something that has proven it works time and time again for adventure games. As far are story and graphics go I don't care too much. I do have favorite story lines but I will play them all. For me a game with a good story, lots of polish and interaction is much more enjoyable than one that's full of keyboard tricks, gimmicks and crashes.

Anyway, it's a "must" for Tex fans.
Oh noooooooo!
Well, I've got the DVD version of Overseer up and running. I still love the characters and good ol' Tex. Dialog is funny.. Great memories... but this interface is driving me nuts and I know it is the same as it was (or very close) in UAKM and PD... Its so slow and clunky (smooth enough, just awkward)... Modern FPS interfaces have ruined my enjoyment of this game...
Still, its TEX so I'll try and persevere...
I do get some graphic corruption which I believe has something to do with the mouse pointer... but on the whole, its playable. EDIT: Fixed the corruption with the Tex.Ini tweak from Steve's XP corner

Well I have only juststarted, but it seems everything is familiar. The same interface as UAKM and PD, the same puzzle style and snarky comments and the glorious overacting is present as well. The videos on the DVD version areclearer than before, but I have a hell of a time getting this game to runwith it freezing at odd times.
But that is no obstacle for a Tex fan 8-)
Is there a dvd version of Pandora Directive? I have one for Overseer but not PD.

Status : Online | Hi, first post by a sometime lurker and longtime adventure gamer.
I'm currently playing Obsidian (from eBay), Return to Mysterious Island, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Black Mirror, and Post Mortem.
Other games in progress, but which will now need one of the teenagers to get me past a timed sequence are Still Life and Dreamfall and Paradise (all games I was thoroughly enjoying until these frustrating spots!).
In the on-deck circle are: Scratches, Lights Out.
Semi-permanently on hold out of sheer frustration or abject fear: Missing, Indigo Prophecy (even the joystick-wielding teen gave up on this one), Alida (have no idea why I fizzled out on this one but I did).
Games I'm intrigued by, hope to buy, or otherwise waiting for: Alan Wake, Barrow Hill, Morpheus.
That about covers it.

Status : Offline | I am playing the Nancy Drew Games again. I am helping a lady that has never had a computer before and she got into the games and wants to play them without walkthroughs. I had forgotten a lot of details on the old ones so I have to refresh my memory in order to keep track of where she is in each game. She is doing great and I think the adventure gerne has just gained another fan.

The puzzles are logical. Some are rather difficult. The graphic depiction of Le Chateau du Clos Luce is lovely. The colors are warm and inviting. The characters are a little less lovely. They are stiff. The voice acting is very good.
I think that I am about half way through the game. At this point I will give it a B.
I just installed The Last Express on my old computer. It was lost in a stack of games to play. I have not started it yet but the introduction looks interesting.
I gave The Messenger a try recently. Marginally OK but I junked it. Not worth the time investment. In my opinion.

That was such a weird game for me. There was nothing about the main character that made her interesting to me but I was interested enough in seeing how the Louvre (sp?) changed and the different time periods to stick with it. It's certainly a mediocre game but one I finished none the less.
I'm currently playing the new Safecracker. I've already had to get hints. It's cool but my poor brain doesn't always want to cooperate with puzzles such as those.
What I resist, persists and speaks louder than I know.

Status : Offline | I am now playing "Zork: Grand Inquisitor" for the first time..
The graphics are a tad pixelated, but this is more like it. Really enjoying it. Nice humor, good Zork GUE references...
I must try and get a hold of Zork Nemesis next as I haven't been able to get that one yet either.
(I loved the Text adventures and "Return To Zork" really left a bad taste in my mouth when it came to graphical versions of Zork... but this is great)

Status : Offline | Just you wait until you get to Zork Nemesis, Bazza. ZN is one of my top five favorite games I've ever played.
If you're liking Zork: Grand Inquisitor, I think you'll like ZN even more. It doesn't have the same tongue-in-cheek humor that Z: GI has, but more black humor.
It features gobs of Full Motion Video, somewhat better graphics, 360° smooth panning, a very rich story, luscious music, lovely fantasy sequences, a record player, sexy scenerios, elevators, Zorkian trumpets, celestial bodies, talking heads, rotating planets, a Zorkian orchestra, and even a military tank!
A true classic of Adventure gaming.

Not necessarily. I loved ZGI, liked Nemesis.

Black humor? Just black, period. I don't remember any humor.

And in spite of all that Nemesis has hardly anything to do with Zork. Just like Return to Zork, which Bazza didn't like.

Ah, Zork Grand Inquisitor, crazy at times, but hilarious, original and soooo much fun. [smiley=love.gif]
Have to agree with Betje on Zork Nemesis: totally different kind of animal. More Myst-like, serious game than ZGI. Still nice though. Never played Return to Zork, so I have no idea how those two would compare.
And as for me: playing Voyage, Voyage, Voyage! And loving it. 8-)
Up next: I'm thinking Space Bar or Last Half of Darkness. Could be Broken Sword 3 as well. Or maybe Dreamfall. Hm, that Tunguska game is looking nice as well. Might get that one as well. Damn, so many options!

FPS Sin Episodes: Emergence --- plays like HL2; enjoying it for what it is
Action Obi-Wan On the X-Box --- very underrated game imho; having said this, would've been better if LucasArts had left it for the PC
LEGO Star Wars 2: The Original Trilogy, PC version --- you guys have gotta get a hold of this game! Picks up where the first game left off --- charming, fun, entertaining, for kids and adults alike.
